Still looking ropey when defending but former Luton striker Marriott is saving the day currently, I make it that he now has 19 goals in 25 league games for Reading.

Elsewhere in the L1 early kick offs Franchise are leading 2-1 at Ox while Notts & Leicester are still 0-0. Reading currently top of the division.

We always have a chance with Marriott but we're not clever defensively and Dorsett looks poor. Not convinced by Roberts when he's back either.....left back really needs addressing.

When was the last time a Reading player scored a hat trick in the opening league game, let alone the opening half.

I go back to 1970 and cannot recall any; the closest I can recall is Trevor Senior in the second game V Stockport.

Agree with this. Dorsett has looked a bit dodgy but did make one really good clearance so not tooally without hope but the club do need to sort that position out - as they do for a second striker for when the inevitable happens.

My big moan (and that of many others) is the lack of chances that we create but I have to say that our conversion rate (or rather, that of Marriot and Wing) is incredible.

Good old 3rd division defending by both sides_Luton all over the place and Dorsett showing the winger inside to get a clear and free shot at goal.

Over the years we have seen Yiadom and Gunter get a free kick every time there is the slightest of pushes and Luton will be just a bit disappointed that they didn't get one for the push by Lisbie, but we'll take it.

Dorsett improved as the half went on. Looked very poor for the first 20.

Literally anyone that watched us last season.

The real Reading are back to ruin our weekends. If Kyerewaa had any sort of ability in or around the box it wouldve been 4-1 not long ago.

Awful second half so far, creativity gone out the window and its now developed into a series of just giving the ball away and stupid fouls.

Now Marriott’s off, so that’s also any conceivable goal threat gone.

Kyerewaa missed our chance for 4-1 and it's been poor since. Big improvement need for the final quarter (why do we need hydration breaks today?)

Has anyone smarter than me worked out how we line up after those subs? Who is our CAM now? I’m guessing Jacob is on for Marriott.

You can see the need for recruitment here. A proper LB, a quality CF on the bench to replace Marriott and CAM instead of R. Williams coming off the bench would all make a big difference.
