Palemeiras come back from a 3-0 defeat in the first leg to win 4-0 in the 2nd leg against LDU Quito in the Copa Libertadores semi finals

They play Flamengo in the final. The 2 of them are 1st and 2nd in Brazilian Serie A right now.

It means Brazils recent dominance of South American football continues with a guaranteed Brazilian Copa Libertadores champion for the 7th year in a row, and 5 of those finals have been all Brazilain affairs.

Final is in Lima at the end of November

1/3 of the way through the season and PSG very much not running away with it right now.

IMO the top looks interesting because there are 6 teams all within 4 points, but also because PSG are not the top scorers and don't have the best goal difference which are another indicator that they have not been their usual selves in Ligue 1 so far. Most likely thing is they pull away of course, but you never know. certainly one to keep an eye on i recks (Marseille have been hugely praised for how they play too)

Investigation by the Turkish FA finds that 371 of the countries 571 football refs and linesmen have betting accounts, with 152 of those accounts being active.

Included in this are 7 refs and 15 linesmen that are currently officiating in the top 2 divisions, with one of them having placed over 18,000 bets on football matches

1024 players suspended, 27 of which are in the top division including 2 from Galatasaray. Also 2 from Besiktas but they are both trying to sue the Turkish FA over it.

Divisions 3 and 4 have been suspended for 2 weeks while more investigations go on.

complete turn around in the last 3 weeks. with 7 games to go Palmeiras were top of the league, 3 points clear of Flamengo. since then Palmeiras have lost 3 and drawn 2 of their games, whereas Flemengo have won 3 and drawn 1, with the latter now sitting 5 points clear at the top of the league with 2 games left to play, and with the 2 of them facing each other in the Copa Libertadores final in 2 days time

Crazy scenes last night as thousands came out onto the streets to wave off Flamengo as the team coach went through the city to the airport to fly out to Lima for the final. fans got so excited that they climbed on top of the coach waving flags as the coach slowly continued on its way, then they broke open an emergency exit on the roof and climbed in to be with the players

Estudiantes in Argentina were ordered to form a guard of honour for Rosario Cenral, but didn't want to, so lined up for it and when the oppo came out they all turned their backs



All players that did it (the entire first team) have been given a 2 match suspension and Juan Veron, the club president, has been banned from all football related activities for 6 months
