Shave those three off and that's about £3.75m off the wage bill on top of about another £2.5m from Aluko and Baldock.

Plus a minimum of £3m in transfer fees on top of Olise's £8m.

Hard to see us having no room for signings with something in the region of £20m net positive dealings.

Especially as in theory we should be permitted to make 1 year contract free signings up to 23 squad players with a league cap.

What are the important dates for signings?

For incomings - I guess ideally we'd want to get players in by the first Championship match of the season, but there is also the day the transfer window slams shut (which includes loans). However, after this date free agents can still be signed at any point outside of this window (though guess it will only be the dregs left by this point).

For outgoings - other countries have different closing dates so players could still leave us outside of the English transfer window.

Every year beg and plead for transfers, all got mega excited a few years back when the likes of Puscas et al were signed and kept begging for more.

Now, turned on the owner saying they were being reckless with those signings and want him out. The future of our fanbase

Anyway, on the topic of incomings - would be great for us to get 2 or 3 in to supplement the squad with the academy, like most am expecting a tough'ish season but think with a couple of shrewd loan deals could be a mid-table side should we keep the starters fit.

Very few teams will be able to meaningfully strengthen this Summer. I think with a few decent loanees we will be fine.

And I wouldn't take Twitter too seriously. I don't think that the Twitterati is an accurate demographic of IRL supporters.

Nothing new there, 20 years ago the old fogies on the bus were saying similar nonsense. Either owners are running club into the ground by stealing all the money, or by being tight, or by overspending blah blah

"Good" news - clearly we have no idea what that higher pay level is or what Derby's level is, or if we can pay a fee or if we are still limited to loans and frees.

We could quite possibly spend most the season with Swift on the treatment table again. We've got ample cover for Moore in Holmes and McIntyre. Southwood could maybe step in.

Doubt we'll find anyone willing to offer us or them enough to satisfy them or the owners though.
