There’s loads of posher words and niche technical terms, but it’s all just an opportunity cost.

the reason why weve only had 3 shots on target in the last 4 games isnt becuase we had a fractured pre season :|

1) tiredness and match clearly having an effect, more do than when it was first raised.

2) I really doubt the stat. We had least three vs Huddersfield (at least one maybe two in run up to penalty, depending on what the penalty was awarded for, the penalty itself and a Doyle effort half blocked half saved).

Doncaster goes for 8 and 1 on target, Lincoln 11 and 1. That’s a team making chances and not converting.

Can’t begin to imagine what might contribute to that.

Last games I watched before that were a 3-0 win and a 2-2 draw, but I did miss Burton as I was away with work.

I think it might be because you're a bit shit!

Does that help in any way? I certainly hope so.

Sorry doubled checked 1 SOT v Donny 1 SOT v Lincoln and 2 SOT v Huddersfield

So 4 shots on target in the last 3 games. One of which was a penalty and one was a direct free kick.

4 shots on target in 360+ minutes of football. You can make as many excuses as you want. That is fcuking abysmal. And for the manager to come out and blame it on not having a decent pre season is just pure gaslighting fans. Which is one of the many reasons the pcunt needs to go.

We didn’t even touch the fcuking ball In the final 3rd for just shy of 30 mins :| .Against Doncaster ffs…Doncaster :| let that sink in. :| A must win game to get into the playoffs against fcuking Doncaster and we don’t touch the ball in the final 3rd for 30 minutes. Please stop making excuses for him. There is one reason we didn’t touch the ball for 30 minutes in the final 3rd and it’s not the players, it’s not, not having a good pre season :| . It’s the manager.

Duno whether it was available but I didn't watch the game (thankfully) - I'd be interested to see how many times in that 30 mins we hoofed the ball down into the final 3rd.

That had happened a good number of times in the last couple of games I saw.

I'm hearing Leam is running low on excuses and was hoping someone here could help him out? Can anyone please finish the following sentence -

The reason we didn’t touch the ball in the final 3rd for 30 minutes against Doncaster was because...

What a stupid comment. No one is asking for us to play like Barcelona, but it would be nice if we could play home games as if we were the home side and maybe try and create the odd chance or two rather than play in our own half for most of the game.
As for away games, sometimes we make the home team look like Barcelona!

With players at any level perception plays a part in the effectiveness of a manager. Who is he to them? A non league fullback who was Paul Cook’s Phil Neal to his own Graham Taylor. The most recent job in management is his record breaking stint at Rotherham. After that, no one would touch him. The only reason he is here is because he played with Jacobson and was unemployed and therefore cheap. People have constantly held up his freak league one win as the example of what he can achieve. The appearance of Will Keane, there to serve to remind everyone of his halcyon day. They don’t count the Rotherham debacle as this is somehow less relevant.
The performances over the last few weeks have seemed more like those of a team who aren’t having the manager. That he may have lost the dressing room. The best performance being the one he was absent for due to illness.

This coming out to take the accolade of the fans before a home game needs to stop. I actually dread the day it is met by complete silence or even derision. If it is still as shit as his tenure at Rotherham was come next October, that is exactly what he will get. With all the excuses available to him at the moment, from Noel’s bad start to the fitness and the weather, I was expecting some sort of progression under him. After seven months, it feels more like regression. It is his job to produce a team that competes in his own image. One where his vision becomes his plan. Maybe this is it. A dogged uninspiring fit group of grinders. Without Marriot, what else are we

I actually really like his post-match interviews - they're honest without throwing his team under the bus. But I guess people have different opinions.

Anyone would be happy with that, but just effective football would do.

I'm on the fence a bit. I feel nothing for Leam or the coaching staff - unlike other seasons and just don't feel they're going to take us where we need. I see the stats and see the performances and it does make me dispair.

I can accept losing, but some of the performances, the endless dire football and all of this is followed by utter shitty interviews where Leam doesn't own it - I find it hard to tolerate. I've never ever been a "manager out" type person, but I want to get this club back to the championship and I just can't see how he's going to do it. But equally, I do think, it's the first season (barely) that we're getting back on track with new investors, actual money, signing players etc. I just want to take advantage of that over the summer and actually have a convincing season where we're at the top or near the top.

Every win we've had (from my shitty memory) has felt almost lucky. I've said multiple times "I have no idea how this team is 6th" or whatever because they've played so badly.

I do think though - I am sick, totally sick of endless managers, new "visions", more "new tactics". So again, it's hard to decide as surely giving time is how this builds? In short - I'm on the fence and just don't know.

Surely though there would be loads of managers that would love the job.

1) We're a big club in terms of infrastructure, stadium, bearwood, the town, recent-ish history, stature
2) The ambition is clear - get promoted, funding apperas available
3) Good owners, investing partners, etc

For the context I’ve not enjoyed this season, footballs been crap, Twitter rubbish seems to be influencing fans at games more and more, have little affinity to any of the players bar JP, Savage, Wing and the home grown lads who we’ve seen nowhere near enough of, but….

If Brogue got his way and LR got sacked now, surely that’s just a recipe for mayhem - who would be coming in and making all the decisions on contract renewals, new signings etc for next year? The seasons done - even if you got in a new manager tomorrow he gets 2 weeks to judge everyone including those on loan etc

I certainly don’t trust JJ, and assume the rest of the coaching team would go also

At least LR will have formed a clear opinion about what’s what. He has made good progress in getting players out on loan. He knows who he wants for next year, how he wants to play

We’d be back near square 1 tbh if we sacked him. Give him the summer but he is certainly under huge pressure to improve things in August

Agree on having no affinity to the players other than those you name there. I still miss Bindon.

Why don't you trust Joe Jacobson? I've watced multiple interviews and he seems a good character, seems honest, ambitious, humble and very balanced too.

I don’t mean I don’t trust him as a person, he seems a good guy

I don’t trust his judgement on which players to retain though based on our transfer activity this season, assuming he was a big part of that
