Congratulations Brobby, completely out of the blue. No-one saw it coming.

30 May 2026 13:56Can understand why, new country, new league, that’s more physical and faster than the bundesliga then on top of it suffering with Slot’s rather unique idea of football. It should be like a new start for all those signings next season esp. if they get Hoeness or Iraola in. Wonder if Salah might u-turn and see his contract outBRO_BOT wrote: ↑30 May 2026 13:46He was the flop of the seasonSutekh wrote: ↑30 May 2026 13:19![]()

Iraola favourite to take over
Now we should have a decent title race next season and we’ll get to see how good Wirtz actually is.

30 May 2026 14:16Slot's style really didn't help him in that second season. With Trent, the defense HAD to go out to him, which left Salah one-on-one. This season, he's doubled up straight away. Age is obvs a massive factor, but it was strange to see such a fall. From Despair To Where? wrote: ↑30 May 2026 14:16 Nah, Sarah's a club legend but I think it's time to move on for him and the club, even more so with a new manager coming in.
Dutch football is absolute toilet, seen it with Reading and now this last season with supposedly world class players at Liverpool.BRO_BOT wrote: ↑30 May 2026 14:21Slot's style really didn't help him in that second season. 30 May 2026 15:01I don't disagree but it's really just kicking the can down the road, especially considering the amount they spent on attacking players last season. They do need to prioritise sorting the defence out otherwise I'd go all in for Olise.BRO_BOT wrote: ↑30 May 2026 14:21Slot's style really didn't help him in that second season. No not sealed and delivered yet, still plenty of rumour that Liverpool might hijack it.South Coast Royal wrote: ↑31 May 2026 12:07 Does anybody know if Senesi has actually signed for Spurs?
Would be a welcome addition and free.
One of the top performing centre-backs last season and an excellent passer of the ball and it would mean that the two young centre-backs signed last season and injured would have more time to bed in.Sutekh wrote: ↑31 May 2026 12:09No not sealed and delivered yet, still plenty of rumour that Liverpool might hijack it.South Coast Royal wrote: ↑31 May 2026 12:07 Does anybody know if Senesi has actually signed for Spurs?

It's not a bad tactic to hijack, let another team do the hard yards, and then just offer another £5MSutekh wrote: ↑31 May 2026 12:09No not sealed and delivered yet, still plenty of rumour that Liverpool might hijack it.South Coast Royal wrote: ↑31 May 2026 12:07 Does anybody know if Senesi has actually signed for Spurs?

"I believe Tonda that he didn't know that it was the rule that he was breaking. In Italy or in Germany, where Tonda was working, this is basically common practice that nobody cares about."
"I think he deserves a second chance and I would give it to him. My personal opinion, and the opinion of the board, is that he is a manager who deserves to be backed by us and to be supported by us. My full support would be behind him actually, because I think he's a super-talented manager."
What's the fans' view on this? He's obviously a decent manager, so guessing water under the bridge already?Winston Biscuit wrote: ↑02 Jun 2026 09:30 Southampton owner confirm that Tonda Eckert is staying on as their manager

A very good point and you can add Kompany at Bayern Munich and Chivu at Inter to the very much under 50s.Sanguine wrote: ↑03 Jun 2026 15:07 Football management - a young man's game?
De Zerbi 46
Maresca 46
Alonso 44
Arteta 44
Carrick 44
Iraola 43
None of the managers of the traditional 'big six' will be past their mid-forties next season. Add in Eddie Howe (48), Keith Andrews (45) and Fabian Hurzeler (33!). Lampard is 47, McKenna 40, Jakirovic 49. As it stands only four clubs (Sunderland, Villa, Everton, Forest) set to be managed next season by someone older than 50.
