Ticket Regulations Query

With rumours that Leeds fans are going to be filling the home end, I was just wondering whether the ticket regulations should be tightened to ensure that only home fans can buy home seats?

The same thing happened with Liverpool last season and I feel that the club needs to do more to stop away fans getting tickets for the home end.

Whilst I understand that the club needs to make money, surely away fans buying tickets in the home end for bigger matches stops home fans getting tickets.

If the home fans were filling the ground weekly I would agree, however as almost all games go on general sale it becomes harder to stop away fans getting tickets.

800 empty seats for that very game would indicate that the demand wasn't there.

To be fair the only way would not to be to put tickets on general sale, and use the loyalty points on member cards harsher for some games. Anyone attending less that say ten games in the last 5 years no entrance

Agreed, this seems a logical way, member cards and royalty points are issuesd for a reason, so lets use them more for these larger games.

I know clubs like Aston Villa operate a similar system as you describe. I believe you have to be on their database, had a purchase history with the club and of attended at least 1 game in the current season to qualify for booking a ticket for the larger games like birmingham, chelsea, man utd, arsenal etc...

A minimum of Royalty Points required to attend a game. Don't put tickets on general sale.

Anyone seen wearing opposing colours or cheering when the other team scores should be ejected immediately.
However they shouldn't be let into the ground in the first place.

You have to prove that you are a Reading fan by attending at least 1 or 2 games beforehand.

I don't agree going to watch a football match should be members only. Many supporters who now have season tickets will have gone to a big match as their first game, not Scunthorpe in the cup or similar.

If any away fans have colours on display or are cheering goals, chuck 'em out, otherwise I can't really see the problem.

And if you haven't got the minimum how do you get points points to reach the minimum if you can't attend a game to get points??

Shirley that's only worthwhile if the game's sold out and you have hom supporters who want tickets? Otherwise you're just turning away revenue.

It would be worth it to stop a few away fans gaining access by becoming members for just the one game. RFC were possibly already turning revenue away by not selling under the scoreboard earlier, and also by allowing the ridiculous way that they sell seats, but allow single seats to remain.

From what I have been told if a membercard holder only attends the games against one particular opposition they are not allowed to buy subsequently. It takes a couple of seasoms to get this info but once it is clear they act on it.
