Would probably need about £25m to buy the club and the same for the stadium. So, about £50m in total. Then ideally we'd need the fans to put in £13m a year (max allowed by FFP in Champ).

So, get 10,000 fans and it's only £5k each, plus an extra £1.3k a season.

If we were still solidly championship maybe you'd be on to something.

That was based on the £55m cost to buy out Derby and Pride Park in similar circumstances. But, obvs i'm not an expert on this.

What would you do at a fan run club spinoff.

I'll take bar manager.

I'd have a specially brewed house beer, from either Loddon or Renegade (contract negotiations permitting) then a rotating guest ale from the Berkshire / South Oxfordshire / North Hampshire region, and a guest from the region of the visiting opposition (appreciate that'd be one and the same for the first few seasons)

There's the buying and then the running.

Buying a club doesn't necessarily mean spending money - often an owner is glad to get shot of a club that's expensive to run, but it all depends if they're prepared to write-off soft debt. Many are, just to get shot.

Then there's running the club - one I'm involved with has supporters contributing a set amount per month (usually £10, £20 or £30). Two thousand supporters giving a tenner a month is a quarter of a million a year, plus larger sums from high-net worth individuals. It won't pay for a club that's buying over-priced players, but it'll help keep a club going on top of TV and gate money etc. And Luton did OK on a small budget - remember when we used to "cut our cloth"?

Depends if we want to still exist or not. It definitely can be done - I've seen it work one way or another at at least ten clubs.

Madejski can't afford to buy the club outright, but perhaps him and a group of local investors could acquire a majority stake in the club, maybe with fans buying a stake as well. Then the club can be run self-sufficiently, even if season tickets have to go up to pay for it.

Would be great to see the club in local ownership whilst we're in the lower leagues, then sell in a few years when we're in a better place as a football club.

Yeah exactly this.

We need to use this opportunity to have a fundamental reset in how the clubs been run. We've spent beyond our means since 2013/14 after being run sensibly for a 20 years previously.
