Assuming I haven't bought a house between now and then I could probably chuck in a couple of grand.LUX wrote:How do they work?
I’ll put in a couple of hundred quid. Five hundred if I get to choose the music on the tannoy.
Anyone else in?
If it gets to a fan buyout, it's because no one else is interested, which would lower the value. £40m max. Probably £30m ish. Especially as the alternative is Dai/ Administrators get less.Elm Park Kid wrote:Would probably need about £25m to buy the club and the same for the stadium. So, about £50m in total. Then ideally we'd need the fans to put in £13m a year (max allowed by FFP in Champ).
So, get 10,000 fans and it's only £5k each, plus an extra £1.3k a season.
We're not in the Champ anymore mate, do keep upElm Park Kid wrote:Would probably need about £25m to buy the club and the same for the stadium. So, about £50m in total. Then ideally we'd need the fans to put in £13m a year (max allowed by FFP in Champ).

That was based on the £55m cost to buy out Derby and Pride Park in similar circumstances. But, obvs i'm not an expert on this.Snowflake Royal wrote:If it gets to a fan buyout, it's because no one else is interested, which would lower the value. £40m max. Probably £30m ish. Stadium isn't worth a lot without the club. L1 clubs in dire need aren't worth that much.
If we were still solidly championship maybe you'd be on to something.

What would you do at a fan run club spinoff.LUX wrote:How do they work?

Yeah exactly this.Dirk Gently wrote:Ideally you want a small number of high net worth individuals plus the majority of supporters contributing a smaller amount.
There's the buying and then the running.
Buying a club doesn't necessarily mean spending money - often an owner is glad to get shot of a club that's expensive to run, but it all depends if they're prepared to write-off soft debt. Many are, just to get shot.
Then there's running the club - one I'm involved with has supporters contributing a set amount per month (usually £10, £20 or £30). Two thousand supporters giving a tenner a month is a quarter of a million a year, plus larger sums from high-net worth individuals. It won't pay for a club that's buying over-priced players, but it'll help keep a club going on top of TV and gate money etc. And Luton did OK on a small budget - remember when we used to "cut our cloth"?
Depends if we want to still exist or not. It definitely can be done - I've seen it work one way or another at at least ten clubs.
