I was there. Still the biggest attendance at a home game I've been to. 27.600.

I'm too young to remember, but having gone to Elm Park in my childhood when its capacity was 11k post Hillsborough, Bradford fire etc. safety measures, how the fcuk did we fit in 27k fans?

I doubt if many phones could record it then! I didn't even have a landline, let a lone a mobile one over half a century ago. but as you say it is surprising how many were there. For the record, I wasn't.

A phone was a thing with a dial that sat on a table in the hall. No real point in taking it to a game....
Fwiw I was there, right behind Barrie Wagstaff's lob as it dipped under the crossbar....Happy Days!

Yeah was being ironic about the mobile phone since many think they were there until you remind them it was before they were born.

I've seen a black and white photo of the game, think it was just after the ball was struck by Robin Friday and I've imagined the rest, but wasn't there either.
