Thought I would put together a list of players we've sold which, ideally, we wouldn't have wanted to lose (since 20/21)

Arguably we did want shot of Joao, Meite, Swift and Ince because of the relegation and the cost they'd have been to keep.

I can’t say I was too bothered by Holmes and McIntyre leaving when they did. Bit of a shame as obvs good lads etc but our CBs have been loads better since

Pushing it but maybe Mola - though wasn’t completely clear if he rejected contract or was released

I reckon from all those I miss Laurent the most. Obviously Olise on sheer talent but he belonged a few levels above us

Holmes I think would have been good at this level. McIntyre could have been great at this level - if not made of glass.

So yeah, not hugely upset at any of them, especially as most of them leaving have kept us live... but the Tom's the saddest loss as Reading fans like us.

Yeah, except Ince who seemed to have a toxic personality - constantly complaining and blaming other players.

Good Joao could have got an obscene number of goals at this level. Bad Joao would have been pretty depressing though, just constantly on his arse from big CBs going through him.

Yes - that was always the problem with Joao - blew hot and cold but could always be a game changer with one little bit of magic - something we could do with at the moment.

It really makes you think about all the potential that was lost. I can't think of any names off the top of my head that might be missing, but it's definitely a tough call on who to include.
