I saw this come into my feed whilst looking for something else (I don't usually use Facebook).

I'm too young to have gone to Elm Park, but it's interesting seeing Elm Park from a perspective I never got to see it too, such as the concourse areas:

Only £5 for kids, OAPs and students. I was still paying a fiver into my 20s

Up until around 1980 I was a regular on the town end terrace as it was the closest to my gran's house in Rutland Road. Started collecting home and away programmes in the 60s and in that top photo, the blue door on the far left was where I used to pick up my programmes from the legend that is Mick Foster.

The photos also highlight the unusual geography of the ground being built in to a hill.....from the Tilehurst road you entered the South Bank at the top of the terrace, you had to climb steps to get to the Town End terrace (at the bottom).

I, too, remember Mick Foster. Nearly always saw at the away matches I went to. Didn't he go onto being a "higher up" in the Supporters club? I have wondered recently if he is still with us,, if so he must be getting on a bit. Like me in fact. Those were the days when one Smiths coach could take the entire away support to most away matches and sometimes they all got into one car!
