10 Oct 2025 22:33Our record against them matches our wider fortunes. When we were good, we beat them all the time. Then in 2017, after a few seasons apart, they started beating us consistently and we've been shit ever since.RG30 wrote:Sheffield United for me. The matches between 2002-2007 were box office stuff.

10 Oct 2025 23:20Smashed them in the FA cup, signed Nick Blackman the next week and lived the curse ever since.WestYorksRoyal wrote:Our record against them matches our wider fortunes. 4-0 up we lost and Feds letting a simple shot go under him were the nearest we`ve come.
Not likely to be playing them in the foreseeable future though unless it`s in the cup.

12 Oct 2025 01:16Seem to recall a mass brawl on the bench and Ulises de la Cruz running the length of the pitch to score in that game.Once were Biscuitmen wrote:Yes the one where their sub was almost immediately sent off still amuses me.RG30 wrote:Sheffield United for me. 12 Oct 2025 10:59It all seemed to start when Mackie racially abused Asaba in that December 02 fixture and ever since then we just played some really good matches with them in that period and in most cases us coming out on top. I remember the 3-1 win at Bramall Lane on Valentine's Day in 2003 when they had been a very good team at home that season and it was one of the best team performances in my time following. Obviously we had the 2 matches in 05/06 where Kenny should have been sent off in the first fixture only for us to win 2-1 with Gunnarsson's late header. The return match Kitson missed the penalty when we drew 1-1 and as mentioned the year after with Gillespie getting sent off seconds after coming on.WestYorksRoyal wrote:Our record against them matches our wider fortunes. 14 Oct 2025 16:30Absolutely this. Gunnarsson's brace against them is in my top three Reading moments. 2005. 22,000 in the Mad Stad. Kenny should have been sent off. 89th minute winning header from one of my top 3 Reading players of all time. Absolute bliss.RG30 wrote:Sheffield United for me.
