Actually quite saddened by this news, loved the Goodies and his contrasting brilliance as a natural history presenter. One last concerted chant in memory perhaps?

Please bearded Royals, do not rub your beards all over his body, at least not without the consent of his family and loved ones.

I’ve been wearing my STAR Bill Odie T-shirt all day in his honour.

Will see if Mrs RB will allow me to rub my beard all over her body in tribute tonight.

Walked into a hide at Slimbridge years ago. Only myself and a man who was obviously Bill Oddie were there. We looked out across the reeds and water through binoculars, all the time the repeated urge to burst into song ate away at me. I bottled it, and asked him if he had seen anything of particular interest out there. As a poster stated, he was both part of my childhood and adulthood. In different guises but both important.

He truly was a Funky Gibbon!

Probably advisable not to sing the song and do the actions at a game though!
