Left back leaving Portsmouth.
Lots of injuries in the past so fits the usual recruitment profile.

Is he a left back or centre back who has occasionally played at left back? Genuine question, I know nothing about him other than what Wiki claims.

I wondered the same as there's a thread on Twitter about taking Findley Burns back:

And a Pompey fan has posted:
Bowat from Pompey I reckon? Apparently he’s leaving us
Which backs up both the rumour and how he could be a CB

He is a left footed centre back so can presumably fit in as a left back if needed.

He is 6 foot 3.

He is a Scotland youth international.

He has played in Austria & Dutchland as was formerly with Fulham.

He has another year to run on his deal with Portsmouth so a fee will be required for his services.

He had a patellar tendon rupture (knee injury) in 2024 and was out for about 10 months.

He played six games, scoring once, in the Championship last season.

Would you rather have Conor Masterson though?

What’s Brogue’s info on this one?

Both to be honest and then between them they give back up. Send Duah and Kanu out on loan to league 2 for experience. Then the back 4 is done, midfield is done, maybe 1 striker and that’s the lot.

Transfermarkt has him down as playing 17 times last season (8 starts, 9 off the bench - though 4 of those sub apps were for less than 5 mins), scoring twice.

Where we are really - taking a bit of a punt on a player who has had a serious injury

We do need CB back up though. Masterson did well against Charlton and has some pedigree but I wouldn’t be against both, would assume CM would be pretty cheap

I like the fact that he's young ... so if he comes good, he could be a saleable asset.

Huddersfield ITK acct says/claims that Bowat failed his medical there yesterday.

Make of that what you will etc.

Pompey feed states that Bowat has joined Udders on a three year deal for undisclosed fee.
