Crowd for Darlington Game

Although a season ticket holder, I have changed my seat so I can take along 8 other people, 6 of whom who are not regulars. Two have trouble getting tickets and 4 (mum,dad, 2 lads) have never been to a game before.

This is the chance to take along potential new supporters and support the team at reasonable cost.

Would be interested to know how many is predicted but surely we can top 15K.

I'm not going and I know a few others who won't be, sadly I think we will do well to hit 10k.

If it is around 9000 I'd be pretty cheesed off to be honest. If I and others can make the effort to be there who don't live in the Reading area, then it shows what a town full of Glory supporters we really have here at the club and town.

I know the Carling Cup doesn't have the lure of the FA Cup, nor is it as glamourous as Saturday's game, but really people, come on, turn up and show your support to the lads, particularly the new players, lets show that we do deserve to be in the top league and have the fans to back it up.

Think we'll approach 10k but would be surprised if we broke through that mark (although I'd really like to see us do it). However a crowd of around 7k wouldn't surprise me either.

Would imagine Darlo will bring 300 or so with them, can't see it being much more than that.

Well I would expect to see more newer fans there. Fans who can't get tickets for other games and don't have the opportunity to sit in other stands and next to their friends and family.

I think it is a great opportunity for those to go. Don't forget, that you also get 20 points,so that may attract a few more fans.

I shall predict an attendence of 11'562.

For 3 seasons now i've prayed that we draw a Northeast club in the cup. Finally it comes true and then it's at the bloody Mad Stad..

What an absolute load of crap. Not everyone has limitless supplies of money to pay to watch football, not everyone has limitless spare time to watch football, not everyone has no kids and no other priorities.

I expect it to be about 9,000.

People don't tend to take much interest in the early rounds where we're almost certain to get through.

You forget, Dangerous knows every Reading fan, and knows how insignificant other events in their lives are, and therefore knows what little time, effort and cost we all go to in our support of our club.

FWIW, If i didn't have other pressing "real life" issues this week, I still doubt I would make the effort. To busy saving to be at the important games

I may go - but if I do I will be alone. My wife will be with the 2 younger kids and the older one is busy with homework. I may not bother since it is a trivial game and is over priced. Why not include the CC in with season tickets for rounds 2, 3, and 4????

I haven't seen any promotional material from the club. I am left wondering whether the club cares about this cup? If the club don't care then why should the customers?

Reckon there should be a reasonable gate - it's been priced sensibly (unlike the Feyenoord friendly). Family of 4 for under 20quid - can't be bad!
