Reading V Utd

I dont make a habit of reading other fans sites however I often log onto this site and I must say its very good, I'm a Man Utd season ticket holder and live in Thatcham, most of my mates are season ticket holders at Reading, so most seasons I manage to get to a few reading games, I wouldnt say I was a fan of the club but enjoy going with mates. I have a ticket for todays game (Utd end) and I hope it will be a good game

The reason for posting on the site was to make some comments about a few things I have read on here recently. A few posts on here have said about Utd winning by a large margin...I honestly cant see this, the pace that Reading have in the team will catch our back 4 out....rooney isnt performing at the moment and we struggle without him. I think it will be a close game maybe a draw!

I appulade the fans on here saying they wont boo ronaldo...fair play to you and the reasons are exactly right, support your own team and dont worry about opposing players.

Utd will bring between 4-5000 fans this is around the same amount that travel to every away game, unfortunately we do have a few hundred dodgy fans that will no doubt be looking for trouble, the rest will be fine. the utd away support has always been far better than the home support OT is quiet on most games, however I hope you lot realise after today the away fans are the better supporters

My uncle was born in cumbria and moved to Newbury when he was a kid his side of the family were all Utd.... when I was 9 he took me to my 1st footy match Utd V QPR, and basically I started going home and away with him from then on. Yeah I know I dont have and northern roots myself but I wouldnt class myself as a glory hunter

Similar to why my dad's side of the family all support arsenal. We're related to cliff bastin and have been supporters since the 30's.

However, i don't support arsenal and neither does my dad. Cos we rock.

Interesting. I remember back in the 60's and 70's.
Reading was a rock steady 3rd div club [ before going 4th]
Ask anyone around town who was their favourite club?
It was always a 1st div club, never Reading.
It seemed to me everyone idolised a top side and Reading
was a secondary choice.
It must be very interesting now that Reading is indeed a Premiership
club. This must test the aligencies of those fans living in the
area. Although the huge attendance increases seem to point
at many being converted.
I do notice now so many people are turning to Reading from other
areas, perhaps with league 1 and 2 clubs, plus from around the world
as publicity for Reading increases.
My goodness how times have changed.

Fair play im Reading till I die live in Cumbria but have barely a passing interest in Carlisle who are on a roll and need the support. If its in the blood theres not a lot you can do. There have been times over the 40+ years that its almost seemed a curse but hey all things come to those that wait allegedly.
I`m sure a lot of die hard United fans are assumed to be glory hunters.
Anyway regarding this evenings game I agree Reading have a genuine chance against Man u even though they will be very keen to bounce back after last week.Amazed at the 6/1 odds bookies are giving on a Reading win. Value if I ever saw it.
Should be an excellent game of footie and great Atmosphere.

Quite amazing when you think the importance of the game.
Perhaps another day at the office for manu, but for Reading, surely
this is the final of all finals. Not the Watneys Cup this one.
