Fantastic performance. Watched the game live in Khartoum of all places. Had to put up with Eddie Lewis of Supersports (South African satellite package) and his bias for Man U. While I think it was a great backs to the wall performance these type of performance can't be sustainable surely? We have to work on ball retention and possession as the ball just keeps coming back. Yes, it will be easier when Kitson comes back as the ball will stick better. I think the main problem was in the centre of midfield, can we play 2 wide men?

Yes we need to improve but all credit to Coppell he started 4-4-2 and was prepared to attack and eventually got his just rewards.

Any points against Manure, the Arse, Chelsea and Liverpool are a bonus. We are playing in the 'third league' within the Premiership and need to stay ahead of the likes of Charlton, West Ham, and the Blades.

10 points from 6 games - we are a quarter of the way to survival and still 32 games to go.

Yes!!!

I still get nervous about if the wheels fall off this rollercoaster. But that rammed home the point and made me feel foolish for ever doubting the boys.

Spot on.

Unless we improve our ball retention how can we expect to hold onto 7th place in the table or beat the likes of MAN U on a regular basis.

A quick comparison between the 2 clubs reveals who has true ambition and who is happy just to survive in the top flight.

Had we spent the same as Man U in the summer we would now have real prospects of a place in the Champions League rather than the distinctly 2nd rate UEFA Cup.

It's also thoroughly depressing to read about occupants of the West Stand who merely clapped to celebrate yesterday's goal.

It's at times like this when supporting RFC really sucks

Don't be tarnishing all of us with the same brush in the west stand!

My season ticket is in the upper west and has always been! - you get a better view up there - most of the time you get to sit with the palayers who aren't playing! and as i go to away to away games -last seasons lack of atmosphere made up for it.

But don't be fooled - there is no a core set olf supporters/season ticket holders up there around us and when we score we go mental, jumping up and down hugging, i went so mental when murty scored last season i nearly fell off the upper west! The goal yesterday was awesome and the celebration was just as awesome up there.

I know you East Standers hate the upper west, but it doesn't make me or anyone else up there any less of a supporter. We all celebrate in our own way and everybody prefers a different kind of view on the game hence why coppell sits in the stands for half of the game and why some choose to be pitch side and some like to right at the back! I like it where i am so leave us alone!!!

It is at times like these that the difference between real winners and the self-satisfied ultimate under-achievers shows itself.

By all means be satisfied, delighted, ecstatic with a point against Man Utd, but as Mr Coppell so rightly says:

"But I have said to the players we don't want the highlight of our season to be a Saturday evening in September. We have got a long way to go and we can't pat ourselves on the back."

I don't mean it as a criticism. It's obvious than when we play the 'big 4' that they are going to have more of the ball. They have better players with far more international and premiership experience who are on far bigger bucks. The difference in class is understood.

I just believe that there were loads of times yesterday that we could have kept the ball even a bit longer / better and so not invite so much pressure.

As I said though a brilliant performance.

I am in no doubt that it was Coppell's attitude of downplaying the achievements that enabled the team to remain utterly focussed last year and eventually for them to beat the points record.

He is doing the same thing again and will I am sure, as a result, squeeze a few extra points out of his players than if he went into the back-slapping favoured by many other managers after a good performance. If the fans want to go wild and then NOT have the intelligence to assess where things might be improved that's up to them but I prefer a little more cerebral approach once the euphoria has settled.

Coppell making the point that we've achieved nothing until we know our final position in the table is not the same as failing to recognise what a great point was one yesterday. Moaning about lack possesion against one of the best teams in the world borders on the pathetic.

Coppell also said that his pre-match thoughts centred around us not being able to lose yesterday whatever the result...............this suggests to me that his perspective is closer to mine than yours.

Steve C has it right in the fact that he is on an even keel regards victory and defeat.

That said many posters are not the same in that they react to just the result. Wigan was a case in point by many posters. Some made no allowance for the fact that Reading had played mid week with 10 men for an hour in a difficult away fixture (Villa) - Wigan hadn't played. Reading were also missing 2 key players from the spine of the team for Wigan (Kitson & Sonko). Another day, despite not playing so well, they still could have had a point.

Just because the result against Man U was good (a tremendous performance) doesn't mean that there is nothing that cannot be improved on.
