It's not a UK show, but Fox Soccer Channel was highly complementary. They said we were out-Boltoning Bolton - not in terms of being dirty and physical, but battling hard for each other, right until the final whistle, and having few stars that gelled into a strong, organized team.

Royals ready for busy week, says Coppell

The Royals’ 1-0 win over Bolton was their fourth successive Premiership victory and took them above the Trotters into sixth place.

Bolton boss Sam Allardyce admitted Reading had been the better side but insisted they had also taken advantage of the fact that the Reebok had hosted two draining fixtures in the previous seven days, against Arsenal and then Chelsea.

Reading, who had not played since the 1-0 win at Fulham seven days previously, now face a similar schedule when they travel to Newcastle on Wednesday and then Watford on Saturday.

But Coppell was convinced his players’ 46-game schedule last season, when they romped to the Championship title and accumulated more than 100 points, meant they would take it in their stride.

He said: “It is a week we are looking forward to. Last season we had three games a week almost every week.

“It is something we are used to and I would hope we can cope OK with it.â€

That is quite staggering and indeed worrying if they have approached all of their games in the way they did the Sheff Utd one. I fully expected that fixture to be a case of 'dirty northern b*stards' but they were angels compared to the Herts cloggers!

Good job we had a practice session with Bolton because I suspect it will be more of the same on Saturday!
