I'd say thats spot on, although 4 and 6 can be swapped if you like, and some might swapped 8 and 10 at times.Forbury Lion wrote:What's the correct formation for allocating numbers 1-11 though?
In 4-4-2 formation I would probably hand out numbers as follows:
....1
.2 5 6 3
7 4 8 11
...9 10
However I'm not sure how 4 got into midfield!
Perhaps i can shed some light ...handbags_harris wrote:Certain numbers take a different position at certain clubs. I remember Bullivant playing Martin Williams up front with the number 4 shirt!
Ryan Giggs plays 11 on the left wing, but after 1992 Gilkesy played number 7. So the wingers can be swapped, and numbers 4 and 6 can be swapped IMO. Other than that, there are set positions to play.
Leroy Lita in central midfield anyone?
How old are you?? I feel old that I remember 1-11 and not the squad numbers used these days.Forbury Lion wrote:What's the correct formation for allocating numbers 1-11 though?

30 and I remember pre-squad number days.... Although guessing which number Adie Williams would wear wasn't always easy as he wore all of them at some point.MartinRdg wrote:How old are you??
