He's not going to be the finished article yet but his loan spells have been mightily impressive and he will get better with games. He MAY start as second fiddle to Hahnemann who only has 1 year left, is 36 and already hinted about a return to the States. He would be far more likely to take his place than 22 year old Joe Hart's at City.

Questions are:

Is he better than Hahnemann? I'd say not yet.
Is he likely to want to play understudy to Hahnemann when he wants to leave City for first team football? Doesn't seem likely as Hahnemann has 1 -2 years left in him.
Is Reading an attractive club for him? Maybe
Are his wages likely to be a little high for us? Maybe.

Thats my thinking and I don't think it looks very likely.

And there is the rub, if we dont allow Fed a chance of a run in the team we will never know how good he might be, a new keeper may not be required, possibly swapping what we have might be worth a try at some point, but probably next season.

Agreed, definitely a brilliant shot stopper, the decision - making may not be completely up to scratch but that will come as he gets more games under his belt.

Agree.

I do believe Hahnemann is underated and overlooked sometimes. This season he has saved us from 5-0 loses to draws, wins and narrow loses. Fair enough his distrubution isn't the best, BUT, he has been with the (championship winning) team for years, is motivational, reliable, and been very good this season.

Casper has a lot of potential, and I'd expect someone more established than Reading to step in. From what I've seen of him, he has the potential to be as good as his pappa.
