07 May 2008 09:40To be fair to SKDD at the time there were a lot of reports that he went for around 2.5. There are some reports, and more recently, that say it was 5.JimmytheJim wrote:No, he cost twice as much as Faé. Still a joke though.

The £5M was including add ons based on O'Neil and Boro's success.Southbank Old Boy wrote:To be fair to SKDD at the time there were a lot of reports that he went for around 2.5. I reckon the truth is probably something to do with the clauses in the contract because he had issues getting through his medical so I'd bet Boro didnt want to stump up too much initially.
Fair enough. In which case, even more of a joke. Mind you, I don't think we would have been able to compete with Boro for his signature.Smoking Kills Dancing Doe wrote:They paid £2.5m up front. 09 May 2008 10:23Interesting stuff. Much of which backs up posts that were ridiculed on here at the time.Alan Partridge wrote:Coppell said at the forum
O'Neil 'we looked at him and we ummed and ahhd over signing him, we thought Little would be back within 2 months, but it was a year in the end. In hindsight I maybe should have done something, but i felt at the time If I'm not sure then I shouldn't do it'
Taylor 'We liked Taylor but we were only going to do anything if Nicky Shorey left in January. He didn't so we didn't do anything, even though both we and Matty would agree he's probably better on the left hand side of midfield'
Cahill 'We liked Cahill too but we didn't feel he was £5million better than what we currently have'
'In hindsight should we have signed them? Probably, they couldn't have done much worse'
Who would have thought that James Beattie would have signed for Sheffield Utd (although the £40k per week may have helped)Geekins wrote:CCBAP - Championship could be a problem. I think he's good enough for the Premiership and won't drop down a division, unless in the Jan transfer window we are in a good position to get promoted.
After my inital CCBAP, read what it says afterwardsDrew_3 wrote:he is good enough but may decide to drop for one year!
