I thought one of main reasons for letting him go was his wages.
And our striking options aren't exactly limited.
No fee? I think Lita will be expecting a nice little signing on fee wherever he goes which thankfully won't be here.windjammer wrote:Lita could give us that experience, plus as we let him go we won't have to pay a fee to resign him.
In case you forgot, he said no to Wolves.windjammer wrote:Thaumagurist* wrote:I didn't read all of that.

He's without a club at the moment and surely he realises that a second successive Championship season will not command the same Prem level wages. But Prem clubs are not exactly forming a queue are they? He could still be a very good Championship stiker for us, and not for WBA as Simon Cox will be
Well thought out. Is it a sign of Leroy's perceived attitude that he is yet to find a club? Didn't Leroy also turn down an offer from the Blunts? Is this another example of a player with dillusions of adequacy? I can not see him coming back. Too much loss of face on Leroy's part and the club don't want to have him.windjammer wrote:With our striking options limited at the moment and no sign of anything happening on the Tommy Smith front due to us annoying Watford and not wanting to beat the Sheff Utd offer how about resigning Leroy? Anticipating the negative response from HobNobbers let's consider these. A bad attitude problem? At times definitely but how much was due to the relationship between Leroy and the old coaching regime? We can't blame it all on Leroy and Coppell. A new order is in place now and who's to say that Rodgers, Lampard Snr and co couldn't remotivate him? During our Championship record breaking season Leroy was outstanding until his injury and after Kitson's Premier League clattering from Middlesboro's Riggot in the 1st game he again showed his worth, it wasn't all Doyle. He is still young enough to come good again but old enough to hopefully see the error of some of his past ways. We don't know how long Noel Hunt will take to get fully fit and we also don't know how he will react to his brother's possible departure or the the continual slagging SHunt gets on these pages. Long has still to fully prove his worth and in any case we can't put all of the striking onus on his shoulders. Church is promising but unproven, we don't know how a long season will affect him, likewise with Mooney, although I have a feeling he (Mooney)could surprise us all if given a chance. Anyway Lita could give us that experience, plus as we let him go we won't have to pay a fee to resign him. Rodgers has the chance at Murty's testimonial to sit down and have a good talk with Lita, but will he so keen on being the new broom that he will ignore any positives from the past?
Doubt it, why would clubs take note of fans (typically idiots on hob nob) muttering about his attitude?Terminal Boardom wrote:Is it a sign of Leroy's perceived attitude that he is yet to find a club?
That was the last transfer window, in January. He didn't even have an offer from them, he just refused to talk to them.Terminal Boredom wrote:Didn't Leroy also turn down an offer from the Blunts?
What the f*ck is that supposed to mean?Terminal Boredom wrote:Is this another example of a player with dillusions of adequacy?

Lita? 15-20 goals? At the moment?windjammer wrote:Y21_Royal wrote:Absolutely not, anyway why would he want to come back here?
He seems very pleased to be coming back for the testimonial. Where's your 15 to 20 goals a season Royal at the moment? Long maybe but I wouldn't go above 10 for him.
Phil Parkinson and Steve Sidwell are pleased to be coming back but I hardly think they'll be all that interested in re-signing!windjammer wrote:Y21_Royal wrote:Absolutely not, anyway why would he want to come back here?

I'd actually rate Lita better than Long and Mooney.Y21_Royal wrote:NHunt > Long > Mooney > Lita
