This match will be played midweek before the end of February, as soon as we have the date we will let everyone know and hopefully attract a good crowd to The Meadow. Entertaining game- quite physical - plenty of bookings. Bordering on getting out of hand on a couple of occasions. Ascot worthy winners but Thatcham certainly had their moments and should have got on the scoresheet. One thing i took from the match is that the No 6 for Ascot Chris Ellis must have one of the longest throws in English football. The 3rd goal, right on full time was headed in from his long throw.
My first visit to the ground and i was mightily impressed. got there early because i wanted a pint and to sample the food on offer and the place was heaving with kids training on the 3g pitch. Artificial pitches definitely the way forward for non league football in my opinion.
