Old Man Andrews Utterly embarrassing result for Maidenhead United.

Four Of Clubs Midhurst & Easebourne 4-0 Hailsham Town
- Pleasant enough ground set high in the South Downs a few miles into West Sussex.
- Virus conditions meant Track & Trace at entrance – taken verbally or scanned with the right technology :
- Table service at the small clubhouse bar which only stocked bottled lager/cans Guinness and no food currently (which seemed to include Bovril or Soup)
- Game settled by a straight Red for a poor challenge where upon the hosts cantered to an easy 4-0 win.
- Journey back through downpours of biblical proportions especially north of Camberley – eased off a bit beyond Arborfield - indoors just after 19:00h[/color]

Basingstoke Town 2-3 AFC Totton – att 400 (sell out) ‘Dragons led early 1st half (Wilson) but Totton turned the game either side of H/T and led 3-1 with 20’ left – Cook with a late consolation. They are at home again on Tuesday v Mangotsfield – reportedly already a sell-out ?

Went to this. They almost had to give up with the turnstiles before kick off as long queues were forming as kick off approaching. Dont think they were processing the tickets quick enough.
Good atmosphere inside the ground, fair play to the "Basingstoke" fans and imagine even more vocal if they were winning.
Just a head's up Basingstoke were never in front. Wilson goal was chalked off for offside, Totton took a 2-0 lead, and made it 3-1 just when Basingstoke got back into it. I thought Totton were a very good outfit, quicker, stronger than Basingstoke and i expect them to win the league. Enjoyable occasion. Tuesday night will sell out today, they do need to keep winning though to keep the momentum going and the local interest in football.
Rumours are they could easily of attracted 1000+ for the weekend.

Yeah, not sure if Basingstoke have been overachieving or Totton are just very good. It genuinely was a case of men against boys in my opinion.
PS - level of officiating was decent.
Interesting comments and recent results re Totton.
Saw them get absolutely tonked 5-1 at step 5 Binfield in the FA Cup, but that was their 1st match of the season and despite the scoreline i do recall thinking they looked massively undercooked, like a pre season friendly.

Royals and Racers Off to Aylesbury Utd v Bedford on Wednesday- since 2006 the Ducks have been homeless and now play their home games at Chesham Utd`s ground the meadow.
Aylesbury United's old Buckingham Rd Stadium has an application to build 42 houses on it. The site was sold to a developer last year, outbidding the club by about £300k. Demolition of the site started earlier this year

....also pondering this one - not much else about on Wed (Pewsey or Overton or Sandhurst in a Cup game at Larges La) but may well depend upon the weather - current forecast is dry but cold - & not working during the day so chances are fair.

paultheroyal Some cracking ties there with standout being Tonbridge vs Bradford.
Bantams will hate going there, peculiar stands and if I can recall from my refereeing days a quite fitness draining slope of a pitch!

Royal Rother Not exactly non league but in local Sunday League my son had a sickening injury yesterday. Clearing a ball from an onrushing striker as he got there his left foot planted and knee hyper extended and twisted. I won’t forget his screams of agony for a long time.
2 hour wait until a paramedic arrived, ambulances all out busy. He couldn’t move an inch so had to just lay on the wet grass for 2 hours. 4 opposition players had hung around and carried him off the pitch to another team’s coach’s 7 seater (sucking vigorously on gas and air) where he could sit upright in the back with seats down facing the back and leg straight to cart him off to hospital. “Football family” as they put it. Warms the heart a bit, that.
Gutted as apart from everything else he was playing really well this season.

Yikes
Sounds awful
Hope he's ok
And 2 hours is pretty bad to wait. Where was that?

mx Winchester City won 2-1 away at Cinderford tonight, and go fourth, after a couple of disappointing results lately. Taking that with the Reading result, I'm a happy bunny tonight.
More locally, Basingstoke Town got their first won at their new ground - 3-0 against Mangotsfield. Mangoes are normally competitive in this league, but they are played 6 lost 6 so far this season. Not sure what's going on there. B'stoke sold out their 400 capacity again - good for them.
Cirencester now top of Southern League South, they won 3-0.
Anyone else got a view on attendances this season? They are up at Winchester City, but not as much as I'd hoped. Current average is 193, against 164 and 167 the last couple of seasons. I don't want to bash the volunteers that run the club, but I'd like to see more being done to get people coming whilst this is the only live football available. On the bright side, there's a bunch of teenagers coming regularly now - there were 5 or 6 to start with, but now its 15/16 of them - good to see, but still a shame we can't get more local people down to a game.
