Speculation - Kamari Doyle permanent

by WestYorksRoyal » 28 Mar 2026 19:08

He's clearly high potential and has improved as the season has gone on. But he's miles off Brighton's first team and I don't think he's performed at a level to reach the Championship next season.

So on the assumption we're still in L1, I think this is a viable option we should be pursuing. Relatively low fee and sell on clause.

Agree 100% except the fee? what do you consider low? i would expect five hundred thousand unless we do a Savage type deal where Brighton take half of any future payment and he comes for nothing? which would be just fine.

Would suggest <£500k, perhaps with add ons for promotion etc., afterwards.

Still pretty big L1 money tbf. The likes of Exeter and Wimbledon couldn't do it.

Agreed again, maybe one of the top six and some of the bigger clubs (Of which i consider us in that bracket) plus maybe one of the teams gaining promotion may take a gamble otherwise that's about it. There's no way i see him breaking into Brighton's first team any time soon and i reckon he's now enjoying his stay with us and would much prefer life as a Royal building with us than Brighton U21's

Starting to look faster on the break, scoring and assisting, finding space between the lines.

Definitely coming good and a target to be looking at, without breaking the bank. Agree, he probably isn't going to be breaking into Championship sides just yet. And as with many players on the loan circus, he's hitting the point he really needs to start doing a couple of seasons at one place rather than having to spend the first three months of each season settling in to a new club, with different players, coaches and play styles.

He’s definitely coming on. Was impressed with him today. Clearly a talent that we haven’t always got the best out of this year

Could see a low end champ club taking a punt on him though

He has another year left on his Brighton contract. I imagine he'll be in the Championship next season (bottom end), even if it's another loan.

Yeah, as much as I would love him to stay, I think he's destined for a move to a championship club. He's developed really well and really started shining in the last few games. I think he has a really bright future if he chooses his next club wisely.

I guess it partly comes down to if we can sell it. He's a squad player at a lower Championship team, like Knibbs was before his injury. But then Azeez and Smith show the benefit of just going at the opportunity when it presents itself. We could make him a key player in a team with real promotion ambitions, but I don't know if that would be enough to convince him. I definitely think we should be trying.

He looked a good player at Exeter and at last he has recently looked the part.
It would be good to see him back next season but I would want him to toughen up a bit.
