Reading 1 Lincoln 1
Att: 15,900.

Lincoln went on to win Div 4. (We finished 3rd and were promoted).

Would settle for history repeating itself!

IIRC a certain Ian Branfoot was Lincoln's left back that day.
Lincoln manager was Graham Taylor too.
Was there - Ray Hiron scored the Reading goal.

There is coverage of it on YouTube somewhere; think its the only clip around of Robin Friday playing.

And that was a great team - Lincoln's version of our greatest ever team.

That season they won 32 and lost four matches, and scored 111 goals. The 74 points they got then is coincidentally equivalent to 106 points now.

That Lincoln match is what I consider to be the first Reading match I went to (not strictly true, but other matches I'd been taken to or gone with others, etc.) But that was the day I consider that I properly became an active Reading supporter.

At 2.45pm tomorrow all the invited ex players plus Steve Coppell and Sir John will be invited on to the pitch one by one.

And they still expect a 3pm kick-off?

Could some of them stay on the pitch for the game?

Should be a decent crowd tomorrow. Looks like 13,000 sold to home fans at the moment, plus the ~3,000 from Lincoln.

I could see 16,500 total tomorrow, which would be the highest overall crowd of the season so far and second highest amount of home fans (after the Rotherham 'grassroots' game).

Yeah well done to them. They’ve been superb this year
Yeah, one of those perennial lower division teams that you feel has under achieved over the years. Good luck to them and hopefully they will fair well next year.

There’s an air ambulance in attendance as a result of a medical emergency.

The club’s saying there’s no impact on the game.

Hope everyone’s alright.

If Lincoln win all their remaining matches they can reach 105. Didn't realise how close they were to bettering 106

Elsewhere Wycombe leading Bradford 1-0 and Leicester need to win at Sheff Wed to get out of the bottom 3 in the Championship and dump Portsmouth in to the relegation places. Wednesday are currently winning
