as above : Winchester City now have a Home S-F tie v Shaftesbury
Bishops Cleeve, taking 'Posset's place, travel to Malvern.

The Wessex One S-F, scheduled for that night between Winch's lodgers, Colden Common & Yateley Utd, has been switched to Yateley's Sean Devereaux Park KO 19:45
....might well go for that if I can tear myself away from the undoubted 'feast' of Chumps League as the @r$e have to combat the masters of 'Sh!thousery' (Atleti) :lol:

....am currently 'pn0bbing' from Stag Meadow - here for CCL-PN PO S-F between W&E v Burnham

....cd be a big crowd - bar's pretty full. 8)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
W&E 1-0 Burnham - game of few chances - 'Blues' didn't have enough up front to seriously threaten the 'Royalists' once the hosts went in front early 2nd Half
- good programme
- official crowd: 833
Broadfields Utd come to Stag Meadow on Sat 2nd for the Final - got past Ardley 3-2 on pens @ FT after a 0-0.
Elsewhere Whitchurch won 1-0 @ Folland in WESS-1 and will play the winners of tomorrow nights' PO S-F now taking place @ Yateley.
NAT PO eliminator : Scunny bt Sarfend 1-0 and go to Rochdale
NAT-N eliminator Buxton put out Scarborough 4-2 and now travel to S.Shields
In the NAT-S eliminator W-s-M won on pens after a 1-1 draw @ Hemel
and face a trip to runners-up Hornchurch
W&E have made a number of late season signings including one from rivals Asford Town with just a handful of games left. (Ashford of course went on to pip W&E to the trophy.
But one signing rather takes the wotsit.
Jack Shakespeare, just voted POTS for Flackwell Heath joined for the play offs (presumably on loan) and, on his debut, scored the winning goal against Burnham.
Seems bizarre to me. That really shouldn’t be allowed.
...nothing in the rules about dual reg/eligibility/qualification to play in the POs ..and W&E are far from the only one's to benefit.
Indeed they used 2 other players on Tue : Mazzone & Murphy - who've both turned out for Bracknell [2 STEPS higher] for most of this season - and BOTH had only played in one game for the 'Royalists' - before the POs.
Whitchurch's winner on Tue was also scored by a Callum Thorne - who's reportedly been at Tadley Calleva all season
...AND even scored in their S-F defeat last week vs Horley.
To be fair I believe Tadley and the 'Jam Boys' share a significant number of squad players under the dual registration 'banner'?
Whitchurch also put out a side far different from that listed on FullTime for the semi-final line-up - that might be of some conceren if anyone looks closer - but doubt they'd have messed up for such an important match?
It's pretty common to load up your squad at the start of a campaign, then add in pick a few 'local choice items' very late in the season should the POs loom.
NOW it's been highlighted by various Soc.Med. outlets - I expect the 'whiff of controversy' might get fanned into a wider 'nasty smell' and possibly after the event, the FA/respective leagues might act going forward and try to regulate it ....
......depends how high up the Pyramid it's been going on?
Some other clubs, way down the pyramid, will often 'list' over 70-80 players -on FT and then people start whining when certain end of season games get 'scratched' , with teams citing lack of available players.
(usually 'hoppers/anoraks' who have nothing better to write about 8) :lol: )
Truth be known it's very likely to be up to a third of those 'formally' registered, never actually come anywhere near the club! :?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
...will round up MW results soon and post the preview of wot is happening in the POs over the w/e ....

SCEL-1 Play-off Final
SE Dons v Rochester United

SSM-P PO Final [Mon 4th May]
Winslow Utd v Cockfosters

WESS-1 PO Final
Yateley United v Whitchurch United
- was at Sean Devereaux Park last night (Wed) to see Yateley come back strong in the 2nd half to beat Colden Common 2-1 & keep their incredible winning run going
- I think that is 13 straight wins now - and 16 in 18
- their last defeat was mid-Feb (at Colden Common) and they'd only drawn one game since then.
- had Tyler Robinson (recently of Reading City) marauding around up front - quite a handful. Would expect them to see off the 'Jam Boys' in Sat Final and attain STEP05 which is some going, from where they were a few years back as two separate clubs (Yateley & Yateley Green) bumbling around in the County Leagues

TVPL-P 14:00
AFC Winkfield v Burghfield Virginia Water FC
Reading YMCA v Goring United Padworth
Woodcote v Wargrave Woodcote Rec

I am going to this

who do you think will win? surely the DONS need to go up this year with their "social media" presence

although I see that in NL circles, there is a lot of disdain for them and other "youtube" teams

The world of non league transfers and player registrations is just weird and bears no resemblance to the logical.

had read that on NLM ...and see the Windsor & Eton/Whitchurch references above, to much the same thing ...
- seems to have been a noticeable increase at the end of this season - evidently some elasticity in the Regs around 'dual registrations' - but employing it THIS late to bring in better players, just for the POs, does look rather blatant & 'opportunistic' to say the least? :?

Yes, why isn’t there a deadline date for signings in non league? Used to be the last Thursday in March in the FL before the transfer window silliness was forced on everyone. Common sense should say that should be applied a month or two before playoffs start.

Not the club’s fault though if the FAs and leagues allow it. Until they amend their rules and introduce deadline days on transfers clubs will take advantage of it. Yes it’s unethical but that’s the real world for you.
