Season tickets: when do you plan to buy?

by Clyde1998 » 18 May 2026 19:48

Just as a poll, rather than anything to takeaway from the main thread: https://www.royals.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=192958

The number of sales of season tickets/subscriptions appear to be very slow, so I thought I'd ask when people are playing on purchasing theirs.

Likely a few days before the cut off dates, or when prices go up. But honestly, I am still struggling to get motivated to buy one and at this present moment I have no interest in it.

I usually get more excited once I see some activity like new players, or deadwood being shipped out (like Richardson!). Unfortunately, all I am hearing is that Savage is going and the hangover from the changing room squabbles.

Will probably get a core subscription before the deadline, but still unsure if I'm going to get one at all.

Just sorting out how many to get, depending on family members and their likely risk of Saturday working next season.

But will be renewing. Already looking forward to the start of next season.

This month sometime, just to get it out of the way, the football is secondary these days, like many on here it gives me a chance to meet up with mates I normally only see at football plus it's a habit that's hard to break, especially after supporting the club for over 55 years. A sense of loyalty kicks in.
Can't be bothered with the subscription stuff, just the normal one off payment and, as I'm in the 65 plus category, it represents excellent value.

First couple of weeks in June for me: ST x 4.
Looked at Core, but with a few of my kids moving from 18-24 to Adult over the new few years, it's cheaper to stick with the ST option.

Already bought, just the normal season ticket for me - the benefits of the subscriptions just seemed to be mainly things I didn't want or need, so have stuck with the traditional way.

Pretty much what I’ll do.

Will be a standard season ticket too.

(Perhaps offering an upfront payment for the season and it not auto-renewing could prompt me to go for the Plus category).

Purchased 3 days after getting the renewal. Taxman can bloody wait for his 25/26 tax submission.

If the current breakdown is anything like representative of the club's wider fanbase, we're heading for around 7,500 sales on my measure.

That would represent a 15% drop on my estimate from last season.

last season we sold 8069 season tickets. is that the number you had? becuase thats only a 7.3% drop if we sell 7500. to make it a 15% drop the season ticket sales last season would have had to have been 8625

The accounts published in March show the season ticket sales at 8069

EDIT: thats for the season before, soz. So this season just gone you estimate we sold aroud 8600?

My estimate for last season (2025-26) was 8,818, not including disabled or hospitality (I've done some rounding, as the numbers are sensitive to small changes from the poll); Couhig said at some point we'd sold over 9,000.

There appears to have been an abnormally large jump in sales today though (have some people been paid?). Still less than 1,600 sold on my count.
