Notts County, now thats a name I haven’t heard in some time.
I live in East Mids now, a dozen miles or so from Nottingham. Plenty of county fans around this morning.....bring on a trip to meadow lane as I've lost Lincoln!

Its nice up here, traditional football fans and all those wearing colours out and about supporting local teams, no Man U, scouse or London glory hunters round here.

Marginal preference would be for Salford as it's a new ground and presumably our first ever matches against them?

In all seriousness, it shows where we are. We may all be asking how we get back to the Championship, but those on the outside looking in more objectively think we're barely in the conversation.

I know it's the off-season but I would say it's an accurate estimate on what we're to expect next year. I think we've got several more seasons in League One to come ... I am sick of it and miss the Championship

Watched St Mirren v Partick play off last night. Standard was awful, lower half of L1 at best.

Fourth season in a row Partick have failed in the playoffs. Once 3-0 up with 20 mins to go!

Last night they actually had a player named Reading at left back. Bad omen, I’d bin him. Send him here. Has there ever been a player with the same name as his club in England? Like Alan Sunderland playing for Sunderland - that never happened.

Why the Luton love all of a sudden ?
I'd have had Plymouth or O*ford above them as promotion front runners

I suppose form from the previous season counts for a lot. That and the stabilisation of the squad over that time as well.

Me too and having watched a few championship games on Sky last season, we're miles off that standard.

And Mike England played for Wales while Alan Brazil never got a call up from Pele’s boys so had to make do elsewhere. However Junior Toilet played for Reading, QPR & Cardiff :?

There are a couple of not-that-far-aways.
Reece Oxford for us.
James Bolton who plays for Fleetwood
I'm struggling.

A guy called Gerry Queen used to play for Crystal Palace. He got into a fight on the pitch once and of course you got the expected back page headline of “Queen in brawl at Palace”

Mr Google came with these candidates:-

Yes, several footballers share the exact same surname as the clubs they played for.
Notable examples include
Dean Saunders: Played for and managed the Welsh club Saundersfoot, and also notably had stints at clubs like Doncaster Rovers and Sheffield United
.James Chester: Played for Chester FC (and also clubs like Hull City and Aston Villa).
Modou Barrow: The Gambian winger played for English club Barrow.
Fred Blackburn: A historic player born in the area who played for Blackburn Rovers in the late 1800s
David Templeton: Played for Templeton FC in his early youth days before moving to clubs like Rangers and Hearts.
Justin Edinburgh: Played for various clubs, but is uniquely tied to the city/club name of Edinburgh through his management of Edinburgh City.

Emerson Royal for Tottenham always stood out to me as having a "Reading name".
