Couhig Out

Tried giving him the benefit of the doubt, but when you are trying to run Reading like Wycombe and not willing to pay the going rate for players.

Then you get left behind other clubs in the transfer market.

When you have agents referring to us as Temu FC as reported. We've become a laughing stock. Which means we will be struggling to get decent players in this summer, especially if we keep making insulting offers.

This combined with the one royal being incredibly misleading and upsetting the fanbase and we are losing category 1 status. Despite Couhig saying that wouldn't happen which implies he consistently mislead the fans on this.

He is not the man to take the club forward and must sell up as soon as possible. Sleep walking into league 2 otherwise.

Frankly, never thought he'd be the owner to take us forward, just to stabilise us after the Dai catastrophe, was expecting a stronger League One showing though and a swifter return to the Championship.

I'm still convinced he wants to just get us into the Championship and then flip the club for a profit.

Seriously? After the hell we’ve just been through because we did have an owner who kept rolling the dice and spending, spending, spending

Yes there are flaws with the current ownership but at least its (currently) manageable flaws caused largely because the club is, presumably, trying to live with into means at long last. The Academy issue is a disappointment and the laying off of staff has presumably yet again lost us cat 1 status but if it keeps the club secure in the long run then surely that’s what is important. Just wish they’d stop being so American and over positive about everything.

Please also explain what Temu FC means, never heard the term before.

Temu is a Chinese online marketplace. Basically only has very low cost; very low quality items shipped directly from China.

Temu basically a newish online company that offer a bunch of cheap, knock-off products.

Couhig does make a few strange choices.

If the aim was to get us to the Championship asap then sell up, surely the places to invest in are the manager and the players not the stadium, pitch and fireworks? These should be the first things to cut back on and not transfers, general staff and the Academy.

Also, One Royal appears to be badly thought through and people are skeptical about the use of AI. Even the new magazine hasn't really hit the spot.

I’m not sure anyone can argue with any confidence that Couhig is refusing to pay “the going rate” without knowing what the asking price was for whoever we were rejected from buying. What if that price was ridiculous and it was smart not to pay it?

It remains true that Reading need to build a team within their means. Just because Dai has gone doesn’t mean our finances can sustain paying clubs and players inflated fees and wages.

Due to their "Poundland" model they pay no import duty in the UK and, until recently, no tax in the USA. This is another reason why they are hated by all the other retailers. The difference however, is they appear to be quite good at what they do!

I'm going to enjoy the world cup and see how everything Reading FC is looking afterwards. I would encourage angst ridden teenagers and grown up boys to do the same. Now Southgate's gone, you don't even have a figure of hatred leading the team any more (I didn't hate Southgate at all, but if you were to draw a Venn diagram between the people I have described and Southgate haters there would be a huge overlap).

Another new account Marcel and agreeing with yourself - you gotta watch out as you'll land in the loony bin like this talking to yourself.

He's German, doesn't sing the national anthem and doesn't blow smoke up Bellingham's arse. The usual suspects are apoplectic with rage, cold or otherwise.

Who cares who does or doesn’t sing a national anthem, and not going overboard in praising players is good thing. Perhaps those apoplectic with rage over either might self-combust if they try hard enough.
