His form dropping like a stone after not getting the move in Jan is a massive red flag so I'm not overly surprised if we're considering other options.

Wish having AI would mean the club could clone a young Michael Gilkes!

Personally no issues with this, it’s like any signing - it’s a chance you take. If he was 100% consistent he’d wouldn’t be in the lower divisions so we just have to work on him if he does sign. Question is, are our coaches able to develop players consistently?

If the cost of the deal (transfer fee; wages; etc.) is reasonable, this could be a decent enough signing.

I'm concerned about how his form completely dropped off after the January window though (did he get found out?; poor attitude?; etc).

I very much liked the idea back in Jan and he was apparently very keen on joining

Obvs the concern with his form after that but guess the raw materials are there

Hope he's worth the risk if he does end up signing here.
Hope he flops massively if he signs for someone else.

Looks like it could be us.

Him on one flank and Kyerewaa on the other would be a couple of dangerous/ exciting wingers to watch…

Seeing the Peterborough chairman’s comments on him last week suggests that we are offering big wages
Peterborough United owner on Kyreece Lisbie transfer: "No chance. Too expensive. Wages wise been offered by massive clubs for our cap, and now bigger clubs in. That's football. Move on and next!"

Kyreece Lisbie is currently undergoing a medical at Reading after Colchester United accepted a bid for the winger.

Exciting move to League One for Kyreece - into the same league as his twin brother Kyrell at Peterborough.

Possibly narked that the deal (I heard) was pulled by Colchester thus his form dipped. Who knows, it’s stuff that happens in football, wouldn’t be the first occasion and wouldn’t be the last, particularly with a youngling.

It would seem that our location is also a big draw for him.

Well this looks promising - always a risk recruiting from a lower division but at 22, you would hope that he does well and either helps us to promotion or we can sell him on for a tidy profit.

It’s exactly what we should be doing, looking to take a punt on a promising star in a lower division. It might not work out but then that’s football when you don’t have much profile or money. If it happens then let it be amazing for all involved but at least it’d demonstrate an ability to compete with perceived big clubs in the division for the talent available.

Hopefully this will happen, young players with potential for £500K+ is something we need to see more of under our new american overlords couhig seems to have the attitude that spending transfer money is a horrible concept but you can still spend money without going full Birmingham on the situation hopeful this is a turning point 🤞🏼 but we'll see

I love the way these topics go.

Exciting news that we are looking at a young player with potential.
When it doesn't happen it becomes "glad we didn't go for him, he isn't that good, too expensive and his attitude stinks"

Wonder how this fits in with Brogues constant anti Couhig / Richardson rants.
First experienced player who has played under LR before renews contract
Second young promising academy lad signs 3 year extension
Third we appear to be matching fee and wages for a player courted by other teams.
Our activity seems to be on a par with most teams in the division, am looking forward to further additions.
