We will be... whoever owns Reading FC in League One....

It's just a fact of life in 2026...

Just have to be patient as it won’t suddenly happen overnight but then that’s the point of the enjoyment of the journey isn’t it?
I’ll be following a non league journey this season. I have signed up to a core subscription to help the club, but the Dai era and now Rob’s waffle has made me sick of it tbh. I am looking forward to supporting my local club.
Things are often even worse in non-league so enjoy the ride - my local team's manager was sacked after spending team funds on his gambling debt and all the clubs are spending beyond their means even without that kind of stuff ...
Not true in all cases. Our local village team is run very well financially, helped by the fact that they also have a very busy bar that is open seven days a week. They are happy with their current Player/Manager, ex QPR player Richard Pacquette, because he is very honest and they know exactly where their money is going with him.

There’s folks on X screaming about not spending “the going rate” on Lisbee. I asked them what other clubs were offering, and what our offer was. They didn’t know.

Based on his performance over the entire season where league 2 full backs sussed him out after Christmas, I'd say £200k max.

Sadly there's 2 or 3 annoying opinion formers on X who have had an anti Couhig agenda since day one.

Quotes from the Peterborough chairman saying it’s gone to a bidding war with big clubs involved and it’s going to end up being silly money. It’s good we dropped out. It’s like buying a house at auction you have your set budget if it goes above that you pull out and move on to the next one on the list.
Peterborough United owner on Kyreece Lisbie transfer: "No chance. Too expensive. Wages wise been offered by massive clubs for our cap, and now bigger clubs in. That's football. Move on and next!"

Lisbie signs.

Today; “Why are we spending that much money on him”

Yesterday; “Couhig will only do things on the cheap,LR dies t like young players/only signs hasbeens from his former clubs”

No idea how this will turn out but he’s got the young, hungry player profile people are often claiming we should be after.

Who have you seen questioning why we've spent the money on him?
