I can see the time of that game changing to an early kick-off.windermereROYAL wrote: ↑25 Jun 2026 19:30 Oxford vs Reading on Reading festival weekend is interesting, Thames valley police could have their hands full.
https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2026/j ... scheduled/Reading can confirm that our League One away fixture against Oxford United has been rescheduled.
The fixture, originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, 29 August, will now be played on Tuesday, 8 September with a 7:45 pm kick-off.
Should either Reading or Oxford United progress to Round Three of the Carabao Cup, the fixture will instead be played on Tuesday, 15 September.
This comes following a request from Thames Valley Police due to a number of significant events already taking place during that bank holiday weekend.
We appreciate the understanding of supporters affected by this change and will provide any further updates, including ticket information, in due course.
I thought this sort of thing was meant to be ironed out while the fixtures were being put together, obviously “Reading cannot play a League game in the Thames Valley on August BH weekend” needs to be used to update the “no Reading home games on August BH weekend”.RG30 wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 17:02https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2026/j ... scheduled/Reading can confirm that our League One away fixture against Oxford United has been rescheduled.

Shame our 3rd game is now our 6th after everyone has played their 6. We are at a game disadvantage from second game onward. Likely have an unrealistic impact on the table in the early weeks - shouldn't matter really but a very strong start would help "manage the optics" - Leam could have done without thisSutekh wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 17:12I thought this sort of thing was meant to be ironed out while the fixtures were being put together, obviously “Reading cannot play a League game in the Thames Valley on August BH weekend” needs to be used to update the “no Reading home games on August BH weekend”.RG30 wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 17:02https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2026/j ... scheduled/Reading can confirm that our League One away fixture against Oxford United has been rescheduled.

Ahem....Elm Park Kid wrote: ↑25 Jun 2026 12:08 I can say with some reasonable confidence that Oxford away WILL NOT be on the same weekend as the Reading festival . . . . .
