Away Season Ticket Allocation Problem

The way they have decided to issue away season tickets has a huge flaw.

From what I understand, they are limiting the number of away season tickets to 70% of the smallest premiership away allocation (ie Pompy).

Also, the away season ticket means you will get every away ticket, INCLUDING cup matches.

What happens if we get drawn away to a non-league team with a stadium capacity of less than 3,000 - (with only 15%, I believe, of this going to us - 450 tickets).

What will the club do then?

We've already sold more than 700 tickets!!

It's not. It includes all away cup games as well.

Away season tickets do include cup games but I suppose they're gambling that it's unlikely that any club with a small enough capacity will make it through to the big boys rounds of the cups.

Presumably they'll allocate according to points for that, even amongst the awat STHs.

otheresie what could they do? - We'll only sell 75% of the allocation we get from whoever we're drawn in the cup - we'll tell you how many in December?"

Don't see the problem. They've allocated tickets based on the smallest allocation that they know they will get.

As has been said, if we get drawn away to a club with a smaller away end then they'll bring in an additional level of allocation like royalty points.

It's a bit one sided (I shouldn't really be suprised by that I guess!!), but when you sign up for an AST, they make the point that you have to have tickets to ALL games (including cup games).

So now if it turns out that we don't get enough tickets in a cup game for all of the AST holders, they say tough luck to some of them.

It might have been good of them to clarify this at the start.

I don't have a problem with the AST, in fact I'm looking forward to going to all the away games (already booked flights to Newcastle!), but I'd like to know how they would handle it in this case.

I was thinking this actually about when we are a formidable force in the Premiership. When people start hating us because we are good and we have 8000 away season ticket holders and a waiting list twice the size of Arsenal's, how do they all cram into the 'lowest percentage of away fans' at Old Trafford? I'm sure they hjave a flawed system to rotate the season tickets to make sure everyone has a go. Research how one of these big clubs do it for a window into the future!
