Wonder what the best ever GD is in England, bound to be some non league club that tops it. I would look it up but then I remembered that last time I tried looking for this sort of info I found that football over here only started in 1992.

It's really, really hard to get around search engine preference for the Premier League. I hit a dead end trying to find out how Wednesday's (only) 24 goals this league campaign compares to the record. Just got a bunch of results telling me Fulham only scored nine home goals in a PL season once.

Ditto, even trying to be specific by specifying The Football League in the query still returns the same information about the PL

Back in the day I think people had something they called libraries and/or books, but I’m too young to remember if that was ever actually a thing or just a made up conspiracy.

...not a Rabbit hole I'd chose to dive too far down ..... but a very quick 'googly' found this - so the honours appear to go to Bradford City??

https://footballrates.com/records/bestgoaldiff

I'd expect the question re NL - may have gleaned an answer somewhere on NLM
- I know there must be at least a big double-handful of clubs that have ratcheted up well over 200 goals in a season even in recent times - so they'd probably be the most likely contenders.

...and since I'm ever one skirting the obtuse side of life  I'd be more interested in aggregate goals in a season.
Perhaps as a quantitive indicator of possible 'entertainment'
- I know as an example that North Leigh, through the 90s/00s, would regularly blaze away at the top of the Goals For AND Against charts all in the same season :? -
would often scored close to 100 and tended to concede not that many less - so took a while for them to get promoted - presumably started signing some decent defenders.
Then they stopped scoring so many and plummetted back down again :( - reached STEP03 for one or two seasons I think?

Immediately reminded me of Huddersfield being promoted in 2016/17 (beating us in the play-offs) with a negative goal difference. 22 of their 25 wins came by a single goal. The 56 goals they scored were only three more than Blackburn, who were relegated.

Thanks FOC, I’ll bookmark that site!

On another tack, I note it’s non league day on Saturday and ex Reading player Glenn Murray, together with ex Reading rumour and proverbial thorn in side, Bobby Zamora will be hawking the PL trophy around Haywards Heath Town as part of their “celebrations”

Bundesliga record for goals scored appears to be Bayern with 101 goals around 45 years ago. That's one record they will smash this season

They'll sail past that.

Two more goals for Harry Kane and he'll become the 25th player to record a season of 50 club goals or more in all competitions.

Sadio Mane’s goal vs Real Madrid in the 2018 CL final was the last goal scored by the losing side in a CL final

And, indicative of the stakes I guess - these are rarely end to end games - Milan (2005) are the only team since 1962 to score twice in a Champions League or European Cup final and lose, and that was only penalties. Real Madrid lost 5-3 to Benfica in 1962 in only the seventh European Cup final, and the losing side had scored two or more in four of the previous six.

16 of their 20 defeats were by 1 goal, 11 of their 14 wins were by 2 or more goals.

I love how they are trying to manufacture a Pep v Sir Alex league title battle by conveniently ignoring the three he won in Scotland.

I wonder what the Liverpool figure is? Probably even less time at the top for 2 more titles

Liverpool is 620, but includes the forced covid break, so more like 520ish.

What's the all-time list for the number of days since the start of football in 1992

Would guess

Man utd
Chelsea
Arsenal
City
Liverpool

then guessing at Blackburn, Villa, Leeds, from the 90s and Leicester etc
