Weird structure as if the teams getting byes do so in both first 2 rounds, then they are essentially entering at the QF stage. Might be the case for league sides but probably Slough will be in the draw next time round. Would have thought a 1st round with the lowest 8 teams in it, to get the number of clubs down to 16 would make the most sense.Royals and Racers wrote:The counties 3 league clubs appear to have again entered this seasons comp(presumably with U23 sides)
Round 1 fixtures
Reading bye
Milton keynes Dons bye
Wycombe Wanderers bye
Slough town bye
Ascot Utd v Beaconsfield 5th November
Maidenhead Utd v Binfield 10th November
Thatcham town v Hungerford town 12th November
Marlow FC v Windsor 12th November
Aylesbury Utd v Aylesbury Vale 6th November
Chalfont St Peter v Bracknell town 10th November
Newport Pagnell town v Chesham Utd 12th November
Flackwell Heath v Didcot Town 10th November
I am assuming the 4 teams with byes will join the comp in round 3.
hopefully all the senior sides this season will be aware of the competition rules to avoid last seasons farce.
The rules are on the Berks & Bucks website and it looks as if they have been amended so that any contracted player can play, although a player cannot play for more than one team in the competition.
Slough also come in at the QF stage- seeded as winners the previous season.Stranded wrote:Weird structure as if the teams getting byes do so in both first 2 rounds, then they are essentially entering at the QF stage. Out of interest, if there is such a competition, do Didcot also play in an Oxfordshire trophy?Royals and Racers wrote:Few 1st round results

Yes there is- Oxfordshire senior cup and no they don`t. Didcot are affiliated to the Berks and bucks FA which is why they can play in it despite being in South Oxfordshire.Sutekh wrote:Out of interest, if there is such a competition, do Didcot also play in an Oxfordshire trophy?Royals and Racers wrote:Few 1st round results

My mistake- just went on some headlines not realising it was pens( Berks and Bucks website has 4-3 which is also incorrect)Four Of Clubs wrote:...minor Pendant alert: was 2-4 to Robins on pens after a 2-2 draw -surprisingly one of the very few lower level NL games that survived the wet weather this evening.Royals and Racers wrote:Tonight Chalfont St Peter 2 Bracknell 4Royals and Racers wrote:Few 1st round results

On the subject of County boundary changes not being reflected in FA affiliations - both Abingdon clubs along with Milton and Wallingford still play in the lesser B&B Trophy as do two Oxford STEP07 clubs Saxton (Abingdon) & Kennington.(Oxford)
Wantage also enter the Senior Cup with their Dev side in the Trophy.
