We shouldn't be losing wanted players for nothing due to expiring contracts, so I would sell if a contract renewal is unlikely. It would probably kill our hopes of remaining in the play-offs though.Brogue wrote:championship clubs interested apparently, although no club is named. out of contract in the summer

Matthew Rowley is part of the Academy, he is not on loan, presume he’s on scholarship terms. He’ll be 21 in July. Tom Norcott will be 21 in November so Rowley is the older of the two.Snowflake Royal wrote:Pereira would definitely be a loss.
What's the status on our myriad of keepers.
So we currently have:
Pereira - June 25
Button - June 25
Boyce-Clarke - June 25
Andresson - June 25 (terminated)
Bouzanis - June 25 (loan/terminated)
Norcott - ?
Rowley - ? is he on loan?
Button would do til the end of the season, barring points deductions imo. With them a bit tighter but probably ok.
CBC seems like he may be a fail, certainly doesn't seem remotely ready for No. 1.
Norcott certainly looks too small to be ready.
What's the deal with Rawley?
Ta. At one point we had a massive queue of league ready keepers with Ward, Southwood, Andresson and a higher rated CBC behind. Now I'm not sure we have anyone likely.Sutekh wrote:Matthew Rowley is part of the Academy, he is not on loan, presume he’s on scholarship terms. He’ll be 21 in July. Definitely gonna be a massive keeper purge this Summer as most are out of contract, long overdue but man, CBC is probably the most disappointing considering how hyped up he once was.Mid Sussex Royal wrote:Bouzanis is back at the club; either Stevenage have terminated the loan or it was just a half season.
From what I've seen, Norcott looks the best prospect and was decent last night V Chelsea.
He just looked tiny in goal when he came on after Button got sent off.Mid Sussex Royal wrote:Bouzanis is back at the club; either Stevenage have terminated the loan or it was just a half season.

He's obviously been hacked and had a bot take over.Sutekh wrote:Thanks multisync for your invaluable observation.
CBC has been disappointing this season. He's no longer even on the bench, although that could be injury related - as he's hardly played for the U21s. I think stagnation within the U21s and reduced quality of goalkeeping coaching here has let him down.tidus_mi2 wrote:Definitely gonna be a massive keeper purge this Summer as most are out of contract, long overdue but man, CBC is probably the most disappointing considering how hyped up he once was.Mid Sussex Royal wrote:Bouzanis is back at the club; either Stevenage have terminated the loan or it was just a half season.

Hopefully we can extend Pereira, assuming he doesn't get sold this month, I'd chuck off the rest.
Could be. He's made some good saves in his few appearances.Hound wrote:I do wonder if CBC was one of those who stood out at youth level due to his size - and the subsequently stopped growing early, which I imagine happens an awful lot
I’ve never seen him look anything like convincing tbh. There must have been something there as he did get good reviews but he seems too small now (doesn’t looks any different to when I first saw him at 16), and just all round not good enough sadly
I wouldn’t be too upset to see him released
This - there are more goalkeepers than clubs so most summers there is a good amount of decent to good keepers on the market who haven't gotten a chance at their former clubs - taking loans out of the equation, I would say pretty much all of our decent keepers in recent years have arrived on a free - and in the case of Pereira, the signing was thought of as a bit of a dud due to his lack of opportunity before.Hound wrote:Also think keepers are relatively easy to pick up. You could probably get hold of someone like Southwood without too much cost or effort. Basically like we did with JP
