Yeah, he’d be a really good signing. There’s also a lad who plays for Burton (can’t remember name) who looked a real handful when we played them away last season. God I have missed speculating about players.Sutekh wrote:Could do worse than try to get Stoke’s Nathan Lowe on a season loan. Did wonders in the L2 last year so would benefit player and club to be assessed at a higher level
And if you get someone properly good and have a poor start, their motivation can disappear because they see promotion as unlikely. Personally, I wouldn't use a loan on a striker unless we have absolutely no choice to do so - goals are key and a loan striker can give you a good season but if you don't go up, you are then stuck having to replace a 15-20 goal player without being able to sell them to raise funds to do so.
It will be interesting to see how they judge those 10 games, because 1 goal is thoroughly unimpressive but it was in a struggling side and perhaps with a pre-season behind him, he might be in a better position to contribute to the team.Stranded wrote:He made 10 apperances for Stoke after being recalled from Walsall - I will be amazed if he goes anywhere on loan next season - at least pre-Xmas.

How many of his 10 were as a sub? Because that has a big impact on how good that 1 goal is as a contribution. Plus factor in his (sigh) xg, shots on per game, assists, key passes, work rate.tidus_mi2 wrote:It will be interesting to see how they judge those 10 games, because 1 goal is thoroughly unimpressive but it was in a struggling side and perhaps with a pre-season behind him, he might be in a better position to contribute to the team.Stranded wrote:He made 10 apperances for Stoke after being recalled from Walsall - I will be amazed if he goes anywhere on loan next season - at least pre-Xmas.

Alternatively they could decide Championship is too big of a step-up and they might look to give him L1 experience.

So not great, not terrible. Helpfully hard to call.Stranded wrote:Half as starts, half off the bench.Snowflake Royal wrote:How many of his 10 were as a sub?
