I am told we have a sell on of 30%
Assume we don't see that though until the loan expires?Brogue wrote:Seems to be a done deal loan to a perm.

Sell-on clauses attach to a club, not a holding company. Given how litigious Couhig is i'd be shocked if he'd have let anything different pass.Linden Jones' Tash wrote:Given he was sold during the previous regime, would any potential income generated by a sell on clause be subject to the SPA & make its way back to them?
I understand the clauses relate to the club, I was just wondering about how items such as a potential sell on clause factor into the SPA...yuomi wrote:Sell-on clauses attach to a club, not a holding company. It makes sense, otherwise clubs could potentially abuse sell on fees to avoid their own pending sell on fee agreements.Clyde1998 wrote:Been watching a lot of these CEO interviews. I think the Exeter one said there's a sell-on fee chain keeps going until the player ends up unattached or is involved in a deal doesn't include a sell-on clause.
An example would be:Club A would've received £600k during Sale 2 (30%) and £180k during Sale 3 (30% of Club B's 20%). They'd receive 30% of Club B's 20% of Club C's 10% for any future sale.
- Sale 1 - £1m + 30% between Club A and Club B
Sale 2 - £2m + 20% between Club B and Club C
Sale 3 - £3m + 10% between Club C and Club D
Worth having in mind, as Man City seemingly will have a sell-on and buy back clauses as part of this deal.
