Go away, come back when you have a reasonable offerClyde1998 wrote:Good to hear we've rejected that, assuming that report is accurate.Pete O'Rourke wrote: Understand Reading have rejected a £500k bid from Oxford United for Wales midfielder Charlie Savage. #readingfc #OUFC
Agreed he has more chance of being in the championship with us next season than with Oxford…Snowflake Royal wrote:Triple that, and maybe we'll talk. But if he wants to go, he can do better than Oxford.
A strong argument to say unless someone bids silly money we just keep him whether he extends his contract or not because of thisBrogue wrote:yep needs to be a good offer as 50% goes to man u
Ultimately it comes down to offers on the table. Just because he only has 12 months left, doesn't mean we should just accept anything. But if we get an offer of >£1m or so, that is still decent money in L1 even with the sell on. Knibbs was rumoured £1.8m, and you'd be mad to turn an offer like that down.Hound wrote:A strong argument to say unless someone bids silly money we just keep him whether he extends his contract or not because of thisBrogue wrote:yep needs to be a good offer as 50% goes to man u
Would he be under 24 end of next season? If so we’d get money anyway
But unless something in that region turns up rejecting what basically amounts to £250k for a class younger player is the correct thing to do. Personally I’d already be sounding Charlie out about signing a new deal (though I presume we couldn’t cut the sell on element out of a new deal without paying off ManU).WestYorksRoyal wrote:Ultimately it comes down to offers on the table. He's important and very good. But we already have ready made replacements in Fraser and Rinomhota, so personally, I don't think we'd need to replace him immediately.South Coast Royal wrote:Whilst he is IMHO a far less important player than Pereira or Wing the sell-on clause makes this a non-starter.
We need him for either a relegation scrap or a push up the table and replacements are difficult to get this time of year.
We haven't seen how mobile Rino is and Fraser looks a bit pedestrian so I do think we would need to replace him (ideally)with a player who gets around the pitch as much as he does.Snowflake Royal wrote:He's important and very good. Rinomhota was Cardiff's PotS last year in the Championship... we don’t need to see his mobilitySouth Coast Royal wrote:We haven't seen how mobile Rino is and Fraser looks a bit pedestrian so I do think we would need to replace him (ideally)with a player who gets around the pitch as much as he does.Snowflake Royal wrote:He's important and very good. Based majorly on his games at RB - of course he could do a job if Savage goes.Snowflake Royal wrote:Rinomhota was Cardiff's PotS last year in the Championship... we don’t need to see his mobilitySouth Coast Royal wrote:We haven't seen how mobile Rino is and Fraser looks a bit pedestrian so I do think we would need to replace him (ideally)with a player who gets around the pitch as much as he does.Snowflake Royal wrote: He's important and very good. Things can change in 8 months and Cardiff obviously weren't that fussed about keeping him even if he was their player of the season.Snowflake Royal wrote:Rinomhota was Cardiff's PotS last year in the Championship... we don’t need to see his mobilitySouth Coast Royal wrote:We haven't seen how mobile Rino is and Fraser looks a bit pedestrian so I do think we would need to replace him (ideally)with a player who gets around the pitch as much as he does.Snowflake Royal wrote: He's important and very good.
