Another club gone today and it’s local !! Milton Utd mens 1st team are no more.
... very sad : used to like going up to 'The Heights' just off the A34 - but once they p!$$ed off the local Council : the new residents, in the plethora of mini-housing estates springing up around them and (fatally) the neighbouring Bowls club
there was no way back.
Demolishing their own clubhouse for a planned refurb, signed their own death warrant really, as it removed any income stream - not that they attracted any sizeable crowds up there.
I heard this was a possibility a month or so back from someone who follows Wallingford - their final temporary roost.
Elsewhere: in Isthmian Div One South East VCD Athletic are also said to be 'dissolving' at the end of this season.
They were being relegated back to the SECL anyway. Based around Crayford they hadn't been part of the Vickers legacy for some time (Armaments - football club founded during WW1) and the current Club owners do not wish to continue.
Odd arrangement as on an overhead view, their ground appears diagonally adjacent to Phoenix Sports but that ground is in a different Borough apparently.? A groundshare was mooted but Phoenix were not interested.

....here's the NL Round-up for
Sat 18th April
NAT
Brackley Town 2-1 Aldershot Town
Braintree Town 1-2 Rochdale
– ‘dale’s winner on 99’ – dramatically snatching the title out of York’s grip, albeit perhaps for only a week
- Braintree had levelled on 91’
Eastleigh 1-1 Tamworth
FC Halifax Town 2-6 Southend United
Gateshead 0-3
Woking
Hartlepool United 2-1 Forest Green Rovers
Morecambe 0-3 Boreham Wood
Solihull Moors 0-3 Boston United
Sutton United 1-2 Altrincham
Truro City 0-1 Carlisle United
- corrected
Wealdstone 1-1 Scunthorpe United
York City 3-0 Yeovil Town
- all eyes - well those at the game and with DAZN
will be on the title showdown at Rochdale (v York) next Sat
- PO eliminators (4th to 7th) still need some minor juggling but essentially : Boreham Wood (4th) and Scunny (5th) will host Sarfend (6th) and FGR (7th)
- 5th v 6th on 28/04
- 4th v 7th on 29/04
– winners will go to Carlisle or the Runner-up
- those S-Fs on 3rd May
- the gap from 2nd (Rochdale) to 7th is currently 27 points
NAT-N
Oxford City 1-2 Chester
South Shields 1-1 Bedford Town
– hosts salvage a point on 95’ to keep their title hopes alive for another w/e
- AFC Fylde lead SS by 2 points and go to PO chasing Merthyr
- S.Shields are at 3rd placed Kidderminster GD only 2 in favour of Fylde
- PO spots 4th-7th make up the eliminator round and currently include ex-league clubs Macc, Scarbrough Chester .....and Buxton: ahead of Martyrs on GD,with Darlo a point further back
- at the bottom Hereford still clinging on thanks to having to play catch-up – 2 games left
- host mid-table Marine this Tue then relegated Peterboro Sports next Sat – almost certainly need to win both
- three clubs realistically in range of them (Bedford T Kings L and Curzon A)- and Alfreton just a point above in 21st host Curzon Ashton
- Oxford C are probably safe barring a freak combination of results involving 4 of 5 teams below them winning – although they do have a very tough trip to Darlington themselves.
NAT-S
Chesham United 0-2 Chelmsford City
– att 1,174 - ‘Generals’ unable to reach POs: nor can City following W-s-M’s point at D&R
Chippenham Town 1- Hornchurch
Dagenham & Redbridge 0-0 Weston-super-Mare
Dorking Wanderers 1-3 Bath City
– ‘Wanderers’ end of season ‘collapse’ continues as they drop to 3rd after 4 straight losses and following Hornchurch’s win at Chipp’num
Eastbourne Borough 2-3 AFC Totton
Ebbsfleet United 4-0 Hampton & Richmond Borough
Enfield Town 5-2
Slough Town – was 1-1 going into the last 10’ – hosts grab 3 from 90’ onward
Farnborough 1-6 Tonbridge Angels
Maidenhead United 1-0 Dover Athletic
– ‘Magpies’ stay just outside the POs in 8th
- they are a point behind a cluster of Weston, Ebbsfleet and Torquay and only 2 behind Hemel and Dorking
- they face a daunting trip to 2nd placed Hornchurch next Sat
Maidstone United 2-1 Worthing
– Makowski on target for leaders Worthing but they only lead the ‘Urchins by’ a point now.
- vastly superior GD assures them of at least 2nd place
- Maidstone in 9th have an outside chance of 7th spot and the PO eliminators.
Salisbury 2-1 Horsham
Torquay United 1-2 Hemel Hempstead Town
– att 4,604
- only 7 pts cover 1st to 9th so the PO line-ups are still pretty fluid going into the final round:
1st Worthing host Ebbsfleet (6th)
2nd Hornchurch host Maidenhead (8th)
3rd Dorking W go to W-s-M (7th)
4th Hemel Hempstead host Salisbury (16th)

Basingstoke Town 3-1 Tiverton Town

Plymouth Parkway 2-0 Hanwell Town
Poole Town 2-0 Havant & Waterlooville
Sholing 2-2 Wimborne Town
Taunton Town 2-0
Bracknell Town – att 801
Walton & Hersham 1-1 Uxbridge
Weymouth 5-1
Chertsey Town – big win for 'Terras' dumps Evesham in the bottom four and ends ‘Curfews’ faint PO hopes
Yate Town 2-1 Gloucester City
- Games of some ‘impact’ going into the last round of fixtures (there are a few odds to settle midweek):
- Berko needing points to secure the last PO spot and hold off Sholing, host Weymouth desperate for points themselves to stay safe above Evesham
- Evesham trek down to in-form Taunton, who were close to being dead and buried a few weeks back – (W4 and D2 in the last 6)
- Sholing in 6th go to relegated Dorchester
- POs home advantage to Farnham and Gloucester – Poole make up the 4th PO spot.
SL1-C
Biggleswade 6-1
Beaconsfield Town
Hadley 0-1
Aylesbury United
Hertford Town 6-0
Flackwell Heath
Marlow 2-3 Enfield
Thame United 3-0 Biggleswade Town
- Final PO spot still not resolved
- Thame need a point to secure 5th and will most probably face a trip to runners-up Hitchin – who they also play in the League away next Sat.
- Defeat coupled with a win for Hertford at the ‘Ducks’, would mean Thame miss out.
- the ‘Biggleswades’ in 3rd and 4th will contest the other S-F
- sadly the prospect of all THREE Biggleswade clubs meeting in the league next season – assuming neither had gained promotion here – has been removed as ‘Biggleswade United’, currently in the SSM-P just failed to reach the POs
- admittedly one of them currently play over in Bedford....... can’t remember which without looking it up!
SL1-S
Exmouth Town 1-2
Winchester City
Mousehole AFC 0-1
Didcot Town
Swindon Supermarine 2-2 Bideford
- not much changed here – POs pretty much settled Portishead/Malvern will host Winchester/Shaftesbury following next w/es final games.
- at the bottom Falmouth Town are safe but Willand need to win and rack up a 3 goal win or more vs bottom club Tavistock and hope Melksham draw or lose @ Falmouth

AFC Portchester 0-2 Hanworth Villa
Bedfont Sports 5-1 Horndean
Binfield 0-1 Kingstonian
Egham Town 2-2 Bognor Regis Town
Hartley Wintney 1-2 Harrow Borough
Littlehampton Town
A-A Hayes & Yeading United
- reportedly issues between the sides at H/T led to an abandonment
– will be replayed ‘behind closed doors’ this Tue
Metropolitan Police 1-3 Fareham Town
Raynes Park Vale 1-4
Ascot United
South Park (Reigate) 2-1 Moneyfields
Southall 2-4 Leatherhead
Westfield 4-2 Hendon
- PO final line-ups not fully settled yet :
- Westfield (runners-up) do have home advantage and host AFC Portchester
- Hanworth Villa face Moneyfields: venue depends upon results next Sat as to who finishes higher – only 1 pt between them
- relegation spots affected by abandonment above
- if Littlehampton win the re-match and then win again at relegated Horndean, they could get above Binfield and/or Hendon.
- Binfield have far superior GD so a point may suffice at BRT – Hendon a pt behind ‘Moles’ host Egham.
CCL-PN
Fri 17th Reading City 4-3 Abingdon United – ‘Cityzens miss out on a PO spot and have a ‘dead rubber’ fixture at Rivermoor vs Wallingford this Tue

Milton United - att 341 – ‘Tangerines’ are Champions due to W&E’s loss at Ardley
Harefield United 5-1
Burnham
North Greenford United 2-0
Wokingham Town
- POs positions not quite finalised just yet
- Burnham will finish 5th and have an away tie in the S-Fs
- the other three are :
- (2nd) Broadfields United fixtures completed
- (3rd) W&E who probably need a point to confirm home advantage – have 2 games left (@ Nor Lye on Tue and Hilltop (Hendon FC) on Fri - so can still finish 2nd
- (4th) Ardley are 3 pts behind Broadfields with a better GD & go to NGU on Tue in their final regular season game
