I saw this guy interviewed on tv. He's something of a zealot, to say the least! He has collected programmes and tickets from all the games he's been to and his house is chock full of it. Cupboard after cupboard crammed full of the stuff. He plans to leave it all to a football charity after he's gone
zealot?

- nominally 3 to drop providing there are suitable applicants/replacements - see below

Penn & Tylers Green v Wembley
Spelthorne Sports v Holmer Green
Woodley United
v Westside @ Rivermoor
- no confirmation of sides successfully applying for promotion from the RFLs (Regional Feeder Leagues) - and the Division has run 'one-short for 25/26 - since the folding/hiatus of Windsor ...... but thought likely to be three - maybe be a few others may 'transfer' in out:
- Maidenhead Town (currently @ Burnham) - high enough finish in the Thames Valley Premier league (currently 3rd) to be eligible - I'm sure that's why they moved there from Bisham?
- Dial Square - (moving to Knaphill from Chertsey to make room for VW) - was @r$enal's first name :?: were apparently founded by 'disaffected Gooners' in Jan 2020 - and are the only likely candidates from the Surrey Premier County League
- Hayes & Hillingdon (currently at Uxbridge) top of the Middx County League - but possibly needing a new roost as I thought Southall were going back to Honeycroft - s'pose H&H could pop over to the Skyex if they can afford it? :?
- if it is to be three down : then Spartans Youth have a game in hand to try and get above Spelthorne (themselves have 2 more games after Sat), Sandhurst or Depor

Just noticed that Rochdale host York on the last day of the season in the National League. York currently top on 101pts, Rochdale on 99pts.

CCL-1
Fri 10th Apr 19:45 Langley v Spartans Youth
Bedfont v Sport London e Benfica
Colliers Wood United v Berks County
Hillingdon Borough v FC Deportivo Galicia - final match before closure/dissolution
- word is no-one is taking over stewardship of the Middx Stadium
- there is a 3/4G full-size pitch alongside that will continue to be be hired out.
- rumours abound that the owners will sell off the site for housing - but not sure where that leaves the Leisure club.

London Samurai Rovers v Chalfont St Peter - defeat at Hillingdon B. on Thu eve, consigned Chalfont to the bottom 2
Molesey v Rising Ballers Kensington - RBK finished bottom but that might not be certain relegation

- Hayes & Hillingdon (currently at Uxbridge) top of the Middx County League
- if it is to be three down : then Spartans Youth have a game in hand to try and get above Spelthorne (themselves have 2 more games after Sat), Sandhurst or Depor

Great update for the league there

National South is always so crazy close

Saw dorking lost a 6 pointer to Worthing other day, and to Horsham before that

big weekend for the Dons unfortunately did not go their way :(

looks like playoffs AGAIN for them, and if they bottle it this time then I really do not know what they can do

They signed a guy called Femi Akinwande who was the player who caused the massive fight between Welling and Potters Bar manager

and that is 3 steps above so they are really trying to go hard

--- he was a Youth player at Millwall before moving down to Welling - is only 30 - has spent his Senior Career at a raft of NL clubs over the last doz. years - playing the majority for the Essex 'giants' : 'ricay & Hornchurch plus amongst many many others : Braintree, Carshalton, Maldon & Haringey - never seems to stay anywhere for long?
- moved between Welling and Potters Bar - possibly where the 'difficuties' arose most recently?? :?

- not quite sure when the PO S-Fs have been fixed:
I thought they were supposed to be w/e 25th which wouldn’t give W&E any recovery time to speak of. Need to have a dig about.....

CCL-PS
Badshot Lea 0-1 Cobham
Camberley Town 2-1 Alton - barring reprieves Cambo will be relegated in spite of this win
Chipstead 0-1 Thatcham Town
Epsom & Ewell 3-0 Fleet Town
Eversley & California 3-0Redhill
Sheerwater 3-0 Balham
Tadley Calleva 2-0 Sutton Common Rovers – ‘The Romans’ confirmed in 2nd – they do have the one remaining fixture to complete the division @ E&E on Tuesday evening.
- Will host Horley in the PO S-F – I think fixed for the 25th – the other tie being between T&M v Fleet Town

CCL-1
Fri Langley 1-2 Spartans Youth
Bedfont 1-3 Sport London e Benfica
Colliers Wood United P-P Berks County – not sure what the Fixture Sec. was on here
- that game was played in mid-Dec - was corrected late on during the week to ......

Colliers Wood United 0-3 Brook House
Hillingdon Borough 4-1 FC Deportivo Galicia –att reported as only 50 – sad ending for the club if that was the actual figure for their last league game.
– have a chance of Silverware in what will be their final season - and one more game at the Middlesex Stadium - Div One Challenge Cup S-F v SLeB scheduled for the Tue 28th
- not sure where the Final will be - be quite fitting if Borough could get there
– held sometime early in May – the other half of the draw is still at Q-F stage: Holmer Gn due to host Langley on the 21st – that’s a repeat of last season’s Final held at Abbey Rgrs
- Penn & T waiting for the winners of that.

London Samurai Rovers 2-0 Chalfont St Peter -
Penn & Tylers Green 3-0Wembley - P&TG champions
Spelthorne Sports 3-4 Holmer Green
Woodley United
1-0 Westside – United need another win from 2 games to be assured of a PO spot – host CWU on Wed night – then Spelthorne next Sat
Berks Co & PFC have completed their fixtures but could both be edged out should Woodley and Wembley pick up points in their remaining games
- Holmer Green’s astonishing run-in started just too late - 10 straight wins scoring 40 goals in that run
– they will probably miss out barring a collapse of both the above clubs in their remaining games: coupled with wins v Molesey on Tue and at Westside next Sat

HELL-P
Cirencester Town 3-1 Corsham Town
Fairford Town 2-0 Thornbury Town
Lydney Town 1-2Highworth Town
Royal Wootton Bassett Town 2-2 Hereford Pegasus
– Slimbridge Champions
– POs: Roman Glass, Droitwich, Worcester Raiders and Ciren
- Corsham might catch-up and dislodge one of the last pair - albeit they have vastly inferior GD
- Ciren play Westfields – ‘Raiders’ and Corsham face off on the 18th – immaterial should Corsham fail to win at Longlevens in midweek

HELL-1
Thame United Reserves 2-3 Cheltenham Saracens
Wantage Town 1-0 Bewdley Town – att 307
Wellington 0-4 Carterton
- FC Stratford Champions
- POs: Runners-up Wantage will host Stonehouse or Malmesbury – who both have 2 games left each to see who finishes 4th/5th
– Bewdley in 3rd the other home S-F-ist

SEC-1
Rochester United 0-2 AFC Greenwich Borough – att 152
SC Thamesmead 1-0 Chessington & Hook United
Welling Town 1-6 SE Dons

SSM-P
Potton United 1-1 Aylesbury Vale Dynamos
Wormley Rovers 1-2 Risborough Rangers
all have one game remaining except Vase finalists Cockfosters – sat just outside the POs - who have four and could still finish 3rd
– they play 3 of the clubs above them in these 4 games
- Champions/R-up - will be Winslow or Haringey – 1 pt gap – the former host AFC Welwyn in Tue – HB play Cockfosters on Thu
- other PO spots currently: Risborough , Kings Langley and Biggleswade Utd

WESS-P
Andover New Street 4-1 East Cowes Victoria
Petersfield Town 0-1 Hamworthy Recreation
AFC Stoneham Champions - & Vase Finalists
- POs: not settled yet - Hamble 2nd & Portland 3rd will host any two from – Lav & Ford(2) , ANS(3) , Baffins MR(2) or Hamworthy Rec (2)
– (Games Remaining)

WESS-1
AFC Aldermaston 3-0 Newport (IoW)
Alresford Town 4-3 Frimley Green
Ash United
0-3 Fleetlands
Clanfield 0-5 Cove
Colden Common {TEN} 10-0 Blackfield & Langley
Fawley AFC 1-1 Kintbury Rangers
Whitchurch United
3-1 Ringwood Town
Yateley United 4-1 Folland Sports
– most clubs have 3 or 4 games left – nothing settled yet
- Fleetlands have a 7 point gap and 5 to play so are certainly in pole position but could be caught – though unlikely :
- POs line up currently as Colden Common, 'Jam Boys', Yateley and Folland Sports - with Cove only behind them on GD.

TVPL-P
Goring United 0-1 Newbury Town
- was at this: a fairly sterile affair short on incident – with very little riding on it
- 'technically' means I’ve 'completed' the division, what with recent shifts around groundshares
- was a chilly blustery PM with a few squally showers
- not much by way of facilities and no shelter/seating
- an open public field shared with Tennis Courts
– small club building was open for loos and changing rooms but no refreshments on offer today – I doubt they have sufficient volunteers
- is very handily placed for the Railway Station
– nipped into the ‘Miller of Mansfield’ after the game, for a swift half and just in time for the Grand National (match had been a 14:00 KO)
- left my mate to have a ‘tour round’ - tho’ the ‘John Barleycorn’ is currently shut – so other than the ‘Catherine Wheel’ close by, he’d had to have trudged back down thru the village and over the river for any other hostelries (Swan/Bull etc) ?

Henley Town 1-1 Woodcote
Wargrave 2-0 Finchampstead
- four more games in the League tonight (Mon 13th) :
Burghfield v Henley
Goring v Reading City Res
Reading YMCA v AFC Winkfield
Woodcote v Wokingham Res

Reading City 1 Windsor& Eton 4
City all but out of the play-offs now but W & E still got a chance of finishing top and automatic promotion.

...noticed that result - - wheels really fell off for City having managed to reel in a PO spot from way off the pack.

I was at a very tight tussle in WESSEX ONE between 2 PO contenders at Cove tonight.
att 127 the 'Wasps' bt Whitchurch Utd 1-0.
Still a couple games apiece amongst 4 clubs, all 4 bunched up now on 79 pts - 10 behind leaders Fleetlands.
- they should be confirmed as Champions after the next 'round' - need 2 pts from 4 to be certain but face Folland on Thu eve - the only side who could overhaul them.

Yateley are hovering just a point further back in 6th.

Also in the CCL tonight - Burnham suffered a 0-1 loss at North Leigh - who are now safe from the drop as the two clubs below them meet on Sat (Amersham v Holyport)

Ardley thumped Milton 5-1 to climb back above City into 5th
- NGU in 7th aren't quite out of it either, should they manage to win their three remaining games - all at home - including vs 2nd placed Broadfields this Wed and crucially Ardley on the 21st.

Was at the Cove v Whitchurch game. Only goal was an exquisite free-kick. Other than that, not a lot happened. Referee seemed to let play rumble on regardless of who was kicking lumps out of who. Really nice burgers at Cove as well.

Last night was at Fleet Spurs v Caversham in the TVPL Div One. Ended up running the line. A far more entertaining fixture, Caversham won 3-2, probably should have won by more, and yet easily could have come away with nothing. Fleet had a chance to level with the last chance of the game, but their forward managed to miss a sitter from three yards out - a miss that the word "inexplicably" was invented for. The ref was a nice bloke, but was probably at the right level...

And if you think some of those other leagues are tight:
POS Team P W D L GD PTS
1 Cookham Dean 17 11 2 4 27 35
2 Allied Community Elite 17 10 5 2 12 35
3 Wraysbury 20 9 8 3 10 35
4 Rotherfield United 19 10 3 6 23 33
5 Caversham United 18 10 3 5 17 33

ACE have Rotherfield on Saturday, Caversham on Monday before ending with games against Chalfont, Mortimer and Marlow.
Cookham have Chalfont, AFC Reading twice and Fleet Spurs (three of the bottom four) plus Bramley. Easier run-in makes them favourites for me.
Wraysbury have Mortimer and Caversham.
Rotherfield have ACE, Bramley and AFC Reading
Caversham have the hardest run in I think - ACE, Hype Train, Wraysbury, before ending the season way after everyone else at home to Fleet Spurs.

NL Preview - 2nd attempt - first one got the dreaded 'Forbidden Access' error - (see SLOWAF thread on AE)
Sat 18th April

NAT
Brackley Town v Aldershot Town
Braintree Town v Rochdale
Eastleigh v Tamworth
FC Halifax Town v Southend United - 'Sarfend' win 2-0 at the Rec on Tue night to grab the last PO spot - meaning Halifax miss out.
Gateshead v Woking
Hartlepool United v Forest Green Rovers
Morecambe v Boreham Wood
Solihull Moors v Boston United
Sutton United v Altrincham
Truro City v Carlisle United
Wealdstone v Scunthorpe United
York City v Yeovil Town
NAT-N
Oxford City v Chester
South Shields v Bedford Town
- S.Shields & AFC Fylde level on pts at the top with 2 fixtures remaining - SS have marginally better GD
- both at home to mid-table sides this w/e then away at PO contenders next Sat (25th)

NAT-S
Chesham United v Chelmsford City
Chippenham Town v Hornchurch
Dagenham & Redbridge v Weston-super-Mare
Dorking Wanderers v Bath City
Eastbourne Borough v AFC Totton
Ebbsfleet United v Hampton & Richmond Borough
Enfield Town v Slough Town
Farnborough v Tonbridge Angels
Maidenhead United v Dover Athletic
Maidstone United v Worthing
Salisbury v Horsham
Torquay United v Hemel Hempstead Town
- 3 pt lead for Worthing at the top - they go to PO chasing Maidstone whilst DW host relegated Bath - all clubs have 2 to play
- Torquay & Hornchurch 1 pt further back then in very close quarters : W-s-M, Hemel and Ebsfleet currently make up the top
-anyone down as low as Chelmsford in 11th (includes Maidenhead in 8th) still hoping to reach the top 7, to extend their season and strive for STEP01

SLP-C
AFC Sudbury v Stourbridge
Banbury United v Redditch United
Barwell v Bury Town
Harborough Town v Bishop's Stortford
Leiston v Spalding United
Quorn v Needham Market
Real Bedford v Alvechurch
Royston Town v Stamford
Worcester City v St Ives Town
- all have 2 games left Harborough Champs
- PO spots incl Spalding (confirmed runners-up) & Real Bedford
other spots any two from Needham, Kettering, Halesowen, Redditch and Quorn

SLP-S
Basingstoke Town v Tiverton Town
Evesham United v Gosport Borough
Farnham Town v Berkhamsted
Hungerford Town v Dorchester Town
Plymouth Parkway v Hanwell Town
Poole Town v Havant & Waterlooville
Sholing v Wimborne Town
Taunton Town v Bracknell Town
Walton & Hersham v Uxbridge
Weymouth v Chertsey Town
Yate Town v Gloucester City
- a few odd catch-up games to sort out but most sides have 2 to play: W&H Champions
- Chertsey and Sholing probably too much to do to muscle into the top 5 above Berkhamsted - so the POs will probably comprise: Gloucester Farnham Pool and Berko
- at the bottom Weymouth and Dorchester hanging on hoping for slips from half-a-doz clubs within a few of points
- realistically only the 'Terras' look like having a prayer of survival

SL1-C
Biggleswade v Beaconsfield Town
Hadley v Aylesbury United
Hertford Town v Flackwell Heath
Marlow v Enfield
Thame United v Biggleswade Town
- most have 2 to play - Leighton Town: Winners
- relegation settled with the final PO spot being between Thame and Hertford
- Ware could finish 5th but only in the unlikely event these two lose BOTH their remaining fixtures and Ware win both of theirs.

SL1-S
Exmouth Town v Winchester City
Mousehole AFC v Didcot Town
Swindon Supermarine v Bideford
- Willand Rovers' win in midweek puts them 1 pt above the line & relegates Bashley, with Brixham looking most likely to join them in the drop with Tavistock.
- most have 2 games left: Melksham could still catch Willand or Falmouth 3 pts higher (and with a game in hand) to survive - - but will need something from the visit of newly crowned Champions Frome to take it to the final w/e round
- next Sat crucial clash sees Falmouth host Melksham, whilst Willand host doomed Tavistock
- covered the POs earlier - Winch in 4th should be involved barring collapse in their last 2 games

IL1-SC
AFC Portchester v Hanworth Villa
Bedfont Sports v Horndean
Binfield v Kingstonian
Egham Town v Bognor Regis Town
Hartley Wintney v Harrow Borough - Hartley safe and just as well as they slipped to defeat against bottom club Fareham midweek.
Littlehampton Town v Hayes & Yeading United
Metropolitan Police v Fareham Town
Raynes Park Vale v Ascot United
South Park (Reigate) v Moneyfields
Southall v Leatherhead
Westfield v Hendon
- Westfield confirmed runners-up (to Leatherhead) assured of a home tie in the POs
- all sides have 2 left to play
- POs made up of Moneyfields, Hanworth V. & Portchester
- relegated already: Horndean and Fareham both go back to the Wessex Premier
- other two - or possibly only one with Harrow B's reported 'demise' - currently Littlehampton (would go to SCFL) and Met Police (drop down to CCL - or at a pinch the SECL
- lots depending upon the IL1-SE relegations & respective promotions :
- looks like an even Sussex/Kent split there (currently) with Three Bridges stepping up to the Isthmian Premier as Champions
- only one 'south of the Thames club' looking likely to come down (Cray Valley) - especially with '#s' (Hashtag Utd) self-demotion
- so from THIS division - Bedfont Sports, Hendon & Ascot are still at risk tho' the gap is 3/4 points
- 'Moles' need just a point from their last 2 to be clear of the bottom 4 - quite an achievement bearing in mind how far they were adrift at one stage.

CCL-PN
Fri 17th Reading City v Abingdon United - 'Cityzens' almost certainly miss out on the POs following another heavy reverse at Rivermoor this week
Amersham Town v Holyport
Ardley United v Windsor & Eton
Ashford Town (Middx) v Milton United
Harefield United v Burnham
North Greenford United v Wokingham Town - like Reading City NGU ran out of steam late on and look to have missed the chance of 5th
- were beaten at home by 2nd placed Broadfields on Wed night.
- POs were supposed to be next w/e but W&E have a league game scheduled for next Fri night (24th @ Hilltop) so that must be uncertain
- not delved about to find-out if the CCL have re-considered yet

CCL-PS PO S-Fs
Tadley Calleva v Horley Town
Tooting & Mitcham United v Fleet Town

CCL-1
Molesey v Colliers Wood United
Penn & Tylers Green v Oxhey Jets
Spartans Youth v Rising Ballers Kensington
Wembley v Langley - Wembley could dislodge PFC Victoria from the last PO spot with a win here
- that would also drop Woodley back to 5th, consigning them to an away trip to runner-up Bedfont in the POs

Westside v Holmer Green
Woodley United
v Spelthorne Sports - Woodley confirmed in the POs after 3-0 win over CWU on Wed all the goals in the first 1/2 hr.
- Berks Co miss out by 1 point
- Brook Ho will host the club finishing 4th
- Penn & Tylers Green: Champions - pleased for them - they have spent a good deal but in steady increments, on their French School Meadow ground over the last few years,
- have brought it up to a much higher standard than my first visit there many years ago - when it was just a roped off field.

HELL-P
Fairford Town v Royal Wootton Bassett Town
Hereford Pegasus v Highworth Town
HELL-1
Bewdley Town v Carterton
Ludlow Town v Wantage Town
Malmesbury Victoria v Thame United Reserves

SEC-1

AFC Greenwich Borough v Lydd Town
Chessington & Hook United v Lewisham Borough
SE Dons v FC Elmstead

SSM-P
Cockfosters FC v Kings Langley
Dunstable Town v Aylesbury Vale Dynamos
Risborough Rangers v Harlow Town

WESS-P
Millbrook v Andover New Street
Petersfield Town v East Cowes Victoria
WESS-1
14:00 United Services Portsmouth v AFC Aldermaston @ Fareham
Amesbury Town v Whitchurch United @ Winchester
Colden Common v Newport (IoW)
Folland Sports v Alresford Town
Frimley Green v Fawley AFC
Kintbury Rangers v Ringwood Town
Lymington Town v Cove
Totton & Eling v Ash United
Yateley United
v Fleetlands - Fleetlands' title held up by a 0-1 home defeat on Wed to Folland - who can still catch them - both sides have three left and the gap in down to 7 pts
- the crowd @ 'Powder Monkey Park' was over 250

TVPL-P 14:00
Henley Town v Reading YMCA @ Mill La
Maidenhead Town v Burghfield @ Burnham FC
Westwood Wanderers v AFC Winkfield @ Denefield School
Woodcote v Newbury Town @ Woodcote Rec
- WW dropped two more points midweek (Wed eve) in the show-down at Wargrave – so are still unbeaten – game was switched late on from Cantley to Finch
- they stay 6 points clear but both have about half-a-doz. Games to play still.
- neither can go up where they currently play but Maidenhead Town in 3rd could as they lodge at Burnham – not certain if they have applied for promotion to the CCL 26/27

Thu evening spent at Arbour Park for the B&B Senior Sunday Final
- County FA couldn’t be @r$ed to produce a programme, which is unusual/disappointing as they normally put one on line.
- crowd was 287
Inter Versa from the Thames Valley League were well-beaten in the end 2-4 by our very own ‘’Give Back’ (Reading & District Premier)
- stark indicator of the respective strengths of the two leagues – IV have just picked up the title for the third year running – were 100% last term.
- They scored at about 5 per game in only a 12 game season and hit considerably higher averages in the various Cup Comps they enter
– upwards of 80 goals in about a dozen ties.
– GB have an 18 match season but they are evidently the kind of side IV don’t encounter very often in their normal surroundings.
(Big Fish:Small Pond)
- both sides can call upon decent Sat. level players – e.g. I think IV have Tyler Robinson from Reading City leading their line
- GB have a squad regularly packed with STEP03/4/5 players.
-notably one of their goalscorers yesterday evening, finishing off a corner routine of real quality, was ‘Bodgers’ son Anton Rodgers
– he was at Basingstoke Town last time I noticed him?
