Do you mean that the other way round?

I think Newport will be safe this weekend but it puts huge pressure on Crawley to win at Accrington because Salford will need a result on the final day regardless of how this weekend's fixtures fall *

*barring a Crewe win at Chesterfield.

We all hoping for a Southampton win on Tuesday night to set up a 4 way shoot out on the final day?

Would be 4 teams separated by 1 point! Ipswich definitely in pole position though.

Extraordinary scenes at Rochdale today. I hope Rochdale win the play-offs; mad they can finish with so many points and not be promoted.

Should adopt the Italian approach and cancel the POs altogether IMO given Rochdale are 11 points clear of 3rd.

League 2 is stupidly tight at both ends although Barrow are down barring an unlikely set of results next week.

MK Dons (85) and Bromley (84) fighting for the title. Dons away to mid table Fleetwood, Bromley at home to midtable Walsall

Cambridge (81), Salford (80) and Notts County (79) fighting for the last automatic place. Cambridge away to Crewe(12), Salford away to Crawley (21), Notts Co at home to Bristol Rovers (15 but on a 6 game winning run).

Grimsby (77) are safe in he playoffs

Swindon (74) host Chesterfield (75) in a head to head fight for the final play off place.

At the bottom, Tranmere (40) host playoff bound Grimsby, Crawley (39) host Salford and Barrow (36) play Newport (40). Newport got a 108th minute winner today which all but relegated Barrow whilst lifting them out of the bottom 2.

Harrogate (39) got a huge win today and are home to Barnet (9) who have nothing to play for.

Maybe but would also be harsh on a side getting 95 points and not even getting a play-off spot.

The NL has been crazy this year with the top 4 all getting over 90 points and even FGR in 7th finishing on 81.

Quite! But as we all know, the FL and NL should increase the number of teams promoted and relegated between them.

Have to hand it to Eckert at Southampton, no idea what he did in mid-January, ship appeared to be sinking. Since then, 13 wins and four draws. Their being fifth has snuck up on me.

It would. Can't remember a previous four-way final day promotion battle in the Championship. There's still a three-way play-off battle too.

3 mins away from that happening but a 3 way race is still pretty good going.

Ipswich v QPR
Millwall v Oxfo(R)d
Wrexham v Boro

Hard to see past home wins for Ipswich and Millwall but strange things happen - a draw for Ipswich will see Millwall up with a win.

Boro need Ipswich to lose and Millwall not to win, whilst winning themselves at Wrexham, who also need a win to make the play-offs.

Hull and Derby can also both still make the play-offs if results go their way.

Interestingly* although Wrexham are in 6th, a win may not be enough. If they win by 1 goal and Hull win by 2, then Hull will go 6th on goals scored.

Having in its own hands has its own pressure, whereas Millwall can just focus on getting the job done and see what happens. You'd obviously rather be in Ipswich's position and I think they'll get it done. But stranger things have happened.

It's not the NL stopping it - but the FL teams are scared of going down. When they agreed to let the Conference (as it was then, I think) have the one automatic promotion spot, that was only done after a sum of money, to be shared across all the Tier 4 clubs, was paid.

From when this was discussed a few years ago, this would still be possible - the FL are happy to allow it but will want compensation. How much and who pays it are the obvious questions, but you can be sure the majority of Tier 4 club chairmen would accept some dosh in the short-term ahead of longer term prospects of staying in the EFL.

I desperately want Millwall to go up. The Premier League need a good shakeup and to see 3000+ Millwall fans at the likes of West Ham, Liverpool, Arsenal on a standard weekday night or early kick-off would be good fun.

Is it wrong of me to be disappointed that Wednesday managed to reach zero points? It was a once in a lifetime opportunity they had to end up on negative points, and they spoilt it.

Also slightly disappointed that they managed to secure their first home win of the season.

Relieved that their first home win won’t be being provided by Leam’s charity boys.
