Bizarrely, I'm not sure that would be the case. Aren't clubs allowed to spend what they like on improving infrastructure? If so, the buying back of the stadium could possibly be justified as an enabler for them to do that?blueroyals wrote: ↑07 Apr 2026 00:39 If stadiums can be sold to make the books look better for FFP surely the opposite is also true? I.e. buying the stadium back would count against our calculation even though it's just a paper transaction.
Infrastructure development is never included in any FFP calculations; nor is things like youth development or women's football.Elm Park Kid wrote: ↑13 Apr 2026 18:22 Just a reminder that League One clubs can spend whatever they want, as long as it comes from owner 'investment' and not borrowing.
The Championship financial fairplay stuff doesn't apply at our level.
Does that suggest that we might have thrown games in order to stay in League 1 so we can spend copious amounts of money this summer rather than having the spending limited by being in the Championship?Elm Park Kid wrote: ↑13 Apr 2026 18:22 Just a reminder that League One clubs can spend whatever they want, as long as it comes from owner 'investment' and not borrowing.

Doesn't that just mean that Couhig would need to put in more money than our wage bill and let it sit in the club's accounts? It doesn't seem like a difficult a restriction to get around.Lower West wrote: ↑14 Apr 2026 23:55Rules changed this season for L1 and L2.Elm Park Kid wrote: ↑13 Apr 2026 18:22 Just a reminder that League One clubs can spend whatever they want, as long as it comes from owner 'investment' and not borrowing.

Owner Investment Restrictions: From 2025/26, owner injections over £500,000 are no longer 100% spendable. Only 60% of such investment can be used for wages in League One, and 50% in League Two.
There have been tap water dispensers in the stadium? I can't say I've ever noticed them in the East Stand, or the Lower West when I've been over there for development matches.Whore Jackie wrote: ↑20 Apr 2026 13:08 Nice touch now that the weather's got warmer, that they've binned off the tap water dispensers in the concourse bars.![]()
I think you used to have to ask the staff at the bar for a tap water and they got it for you?Clyde1998 wrote: ↑20 Apr 2026 16:05There have been tap water dispensers in the stadium? Is this another one of those exclusive Club 1871 things they haven't (hadn't) bothered with in the rest of the ground?
East Stand Y24/Y23 concourse bar. Basically a big jerry can filled with tap water and a stack of plastic glasses. Meant you could just grab a glass of water without queuing. Been there all season IIRC, assumed it was the same throughout all the concourses..Clyde1998 wrote: ↑20 Apr 2026 16:05There have been tap water dispensers in the stadium? Ah. Don't usually head down that far and can't say I've noticed a big jerry can anywhere else within the stand. Seems odd to get rid of it, unless someone simply forgot to put it out ahead of the game...Whore Jackie wrote: ↑20 Apr 2026 17:24East Stand Y24/Y23 concourse bar. Questioned it with the bar supervisor and she went and got a jug of water and one cup. And then went and got another cup when the woman behind asked for one.![]()
Didn't realise there was a legal requirement to provide water free of charge with alcohol. Although I completely agree with that law.RoyalBlue wrote:I think you used to have to ask the staff at the bar for a tap water and they got it for you?Clyde1998 wrote: ↑20 Apr 2026 16:05There have been tap water dispensers in the stadium? As they are selling alcohol, they are also legally obliged to provide it free of charge.
