If stadiums can be sold to make the books look better for FFP surely the opposite is also true? I.e. buying the stadium back would count against our calculation even though it's just a paper transaction.

Interesting (or maybe just a coincidence) that the £1.5m/month rent is almost exactly the same figure Couhig claims the ownership group are putting into the club every month. Maybe (speculating) it's just the same money changing hands over and over? e.g. £1.5m stadium rent -> HoldCo -> Dogwood LLC -> RFC

Bizarrely, I'm not sure that would be the case. Aren't clubs allowed to spend what they like on improving infrastructure? If so, the buying back of the stadium could possibly be justified as an enabler for them to do that?

It would be a nice touch if Couhig and Co added white hoops into the seat layout.

Just a reminder that League One clubs can spend whatever they want, as long as it comes from owner 'investment' and not borrowing.

The Championship financial fairplay stuff doesn't apply at our level.

Infrastructure development is never included in any FFP calculations; nor is things like youth development or women's football.

Does that suggest that we might have thrown games in order to stay in League 1 so we can spend copious amounts of money this summer rather than having the spending limited by being in the Championship?

Rules changed this season for L1 and L2.

Owner Investment Restrictions: From 2025/26, owner injections over £500,000 are no longer 100% spendable. Only 60% of such investment can be used for wages in League One, and 50% in League Two.

Doesn't that just mean that Couhig would need to put in more money than our wage bill and let it sit in the club's accounts? It doesn't seem like a difficult a restriction to get around.
