What’s noticeable to me (as per the Rotherham game) is the number of players we get into the opposition box when we break. Was a joy to see the 3rd goal with players queuing to score (miss)
Having a settled back 4 obviously helps but we look more organised back there. JP had to make a couple of saves but we’re not relying on “worldies” from him to keep us in it.
Plenty of work still needed but also plenty of cause for optimism.

DK finally getting the ball at his feet and really running at defenders, reminds me of Kebe just as he started to come good.
Kelvin E really putting his body about a lot more now. Not afraid to be physical, winning headers, pressuring defenders etc.

Danny K , albeit up against what looked to be the worst right-back in the division, had a game to remember and was involved in all 3 goals.
So , on possession stats it was almost a reversal of last Saturday and amazingly (?) we won, once again showing that possession of the ball, especially by central defenders, doesn't win you football matches.
Players should get a lift from the result and hopefully can kick on

Several of our signings have been decent: O'Connor, Williams and Marriott the pick of the bunch. I think Lane has been decent as well so far. and I have no complaints with Ritchie.
I don’t think DK is particularly raw as such. He isn’t especially young
Don’t think he understood his role before and lost his confidence. Now he’s trying things and taking people on and he looks so much better. Also seems to link well with Kelvin

I don’t think the question matters in terms of fullback.
Yiadom, Abrefa, Dorsett and Jacob are all a similar level - which is good enough for L1. Yiadom brings quality as a sub, while Dorsett and Abrefa will continue to improve with playing games. With Ahmed and Ryan in the wings.

Crowing after one game is though apparently.
As I’ve already said he was excellent today and as Orion has said if he can maintain that then excellent he’ll be fulfilling his potential.
First touch and passing improved today to combine with his tempo, and commitment.
Both things likely to improve with time and games.
It's almost like we bought him as a player with raw potential, and with experience he's maturing and improving.

Not like it’s been a gradual improvement though. I’m still going with crediting the management and coaching for this one and it being more mental than anything else

Doyle made a decent argument for the 2-1 central midfield shape meaning I’m less confident about inverting it, and I thought Randal Williams looked a good player. Was great to get an away win, and even better to do so with a high score line - three goals in one game somewhat tempers the fear that we might be incapable of creating and putting away chances. An obvious shout out to Danny K who was absolutely superb.
I think something is happening here, which is a relief. But it’s all about the next game.

Weird attitude
He was playing shite - but it was clear he could play a bit
He now has a couple of good games and people say he’s played well
Which is totally fair
I'm in the AR camp and I disagree that he was playing shite. IMO he was never that poor, always worked hard and caused opposition defenders problems. More often than not, he was let down by the failure of his teammates to make decent runs/get in good positions and perhaps too often he himself was looking to pass rather than have a go on his own. Today he was excellent as highlighted by the Sky commentator who has no axes to grind.

I’ve no axe to grind. I’m delighted to see him play well. Seems a good lad as well. He’s always worked hard, stayed very fit and given 100%
He’s had more assists in the two games than he did in the previous 20 or whatever it was however which tells it’s own story
Fully agree too often he looked to pass though. That was 100% his main flaw and showed a general lack of confidence

Will do a longer write up soon, but he has to be praised today.

I think you have to give Richardson some credit for his tactics - Blackpool play with 352 so we just needed Kywera to get 1:1 with the centre half and they were in trouble.
There was a lot of hoofball and we seemed to lose a lot of midfield battles but I was always pretty confident we'd win after scoring the first goal. It makes a pleasant change from the usual drubbing we get there.
Just on tarnish on the day, I stupidly got a burger for lunch before the game from a chippy, it was disgusting - they deep fried it in the chip fat and it tasted like it.
A shout out to the "Cask and Tap" pub, I'll be back there again on my next visit

Well, he has a fairly laconic style. And he's not an all action run his heart out on lost causes type. Though he does put in a shift.
Plus, he's black and there is that tendency for black players to be described as lazy more than white players.
It's not his fault that he his not cut out to be a central striker, I think we can all see that. He is probably just as aware of that as we are.
But any way Ian, just play the race card, that normally shuts down any discussion on here.
You win the internet tonight, well done.

You can bury your head in the sand all you like, but its hardly a secret it happens.

I seem to remember Ron Atkinson getting sacked for saying as much and it was definitely a commonly expressed trope in the 80s and 90s
